Pain in throat feel like I cant breathe after Lap Band Surgery
Jewel28 replied to mztmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It wakes me up but what I do is change positions and then go back to sleep. I was hoping it will go away on its own but it hasnt. I wonder if it has something to do with me not being able to burp. -
Pain in throat feel like I cant breathe after Lap Band Surgery
Jewel28 replied to mztmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg I thought I was the only one with this, but I dont have the chest pains but I get the weird feeling in the throat and the headache but once I sit up it goes away. I now just sleep through these feelings. I figured all this is related to the band since I didnt have this problem prior. -

I didnt need to get a referral from my pcp. I went through True Results a center that specializes in the lapband they set up everything for me all I had to do was show up for my appts. But I did share with my pcp and she was happy for me. Btw my bmi was over 50 I was never told that I couldnt get the lapband.

I didnt have to stay overnight which was great I dont like hospitals either. I had my surgery at 7am and out by 11:30am. All they wanted me to do was get up out of bed and walk, I jumped up out of that bed so fast. I guess that let them know then that I was ready to go. But if I had to stay overnight I would not have minded.

Jewel28 replied to BestPTA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Aetna, did a 4 month supervised diet and once everything was submitted I got an approval within a week and a half. -
Where are you from?
Jewel28 replied to thatchick_j's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Austin,Tx here -
Im doing pretty good im on my last week of soft foods before I can start back to normal food. As of the 22nd which was my post op dr visit I lost 11lbs. Haven't started exercising trying to get motivated to start doing that now. Haven't really been to hungry I get full so fast and stay like that for hours, I know my surgeon put 3cc in at the time of surgery. Im supposed to get my first fill on Oct10 we'll see if I need it. How's everybody else doing?

I didn't have it but then again i didnt have a bowel movement for the first 3 days.

Mine is a few inches above my belly button. I can't feel it, don't even know it's there. Once i lose this weight i'm sure it will be visible though.

Sleeping on my stomach
Jewel28 replied to SugarCali's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a stomach sleeper but for the first 9 days I was very conscious about not laying on my stomach. I would either lay on my back or on my right side that was it. But for this last week I have been waking up in the middle of the night on my stomach. It doesn't hurt it just feels weird. So if you can handle it I say go for it. -
I'm with you on that, I think its so disgusting. What I do is eat soft foods and chew the heck out of it until its pureed.

Pins and Needles with Aetna, Look for other bandsters with no comorbities just BMI>40
Jewel28 replied to rn2012's topic in Insurance & Financing
You should try calling Aetna to see what they have to say about that. My bmi was well over 50 without co morbities for the past 2 yrs but they did diagnose me with mild sleep apnea. I went through a lapband clinic called True Results and they pretty much did all the leg work for me. But once I did my required 4 months supervised visits my paperwork was sent off and I was approved in a week and a half. Btw I have the same insurance you do. -
Yeah I'm the same way I've had no trouble with getting foods down. I can drink a good amount of liquids at one time. Only time I can't is in the morning and at night after 11. My band must get tight at that time. I haven't tried a lot if things so idk if I can tolerate everything I used to eat. I know chicken, beef goes down fine. But then again I chew everything up like crazy lol.

What do you want to do when your skinny (or thinner)
Jewel28 replied to helen098's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know about ya'll but I've always had short fat hands and I have never been able to see my knuckles when I make a fist until now so yay me lol. Now my list Wear cute clothes, wear skinny jeans, cross my legs like a lady foe the first time ever in life lol, wear stilettos without feeling like I'm going to break my ankle. Not having to shop in the plus size stores bye bye Lane Bryant. Not worrying about how far away a place is if I have to walk there for example a football stadium or basketball arena. I'm going to stop there I could go forever. Soon enough all of this will be a thing of the past. -
Yeah I'm the same way, I've lost about 30 pounds and yeah I'm still in the same size. They are looser on the legs but the belly still fits in my jeans just fine. Idk why that is.

Congrats fellow bandster I was banded on the 6th also. I'm not sure what the rash could be I don't have a rash. I would definitely talk to your surgeon or the assistant whoever you can get in touch with.
