To me, it's pretty much all vomiting if it's coming back up. Just wondered what you all thought...
-
Yes, it usually happens if I don't chew well enough or eat something I really shouldn't.... amazing how that works, huh?

I had my first fill last week and I am wondering if maybe the band is a little too tight now? I now have a total of 4cc's (2 put in the band when it was placed and 2 for the first fill). The first fill itself was uneventful... I was a lot more nervous than I needed to be. It bled a lot more than I thought, but painwise, it was just a needlestick. Now, when I eat anything solid, after a few bites, I get a pain in my chest. I do okay with yogurt, but nothing solid. If I do take more than a few bites or a larger bite, then it comes back up. Any advise or suggestions? Is this what is the band is supposed to be doing? I know it seems like a dumb question, but is the band working correctly and I need to stop after a few bites or does it sound like the band might be a little too tight? Thanks!

Ahh! Thanks for the clarification, ladies. I have been having a lot more PBing than vomiting. lol

This made me laugh.... I know exactly what you're talking about too. Now, I'm getting more used to the band being tightened and now that I actually chew my food, I'm thinking another fill might be in order next time! LOL..... just takes time, is all.

I throw up a lot... not violently... but I guess I haven't learned to chew well enough yet (at times) or when enough is enough. Again, this is a reason I wanted the band... to make me stop when it's time to stop! I hope that the vomiting will not make my band slip, but I think it's (the vomiting) going to attribute to my success as well.

Has anyone else had to vomit at work? I have a few times (still getting used to this fill) and it's like vomiting takes some master planning. The first time I went in the restroom and waited til someone left (they were S-L-O-W!!!). Then, luckily this time no one was in there. Anyone else have any good vomiting at work stories?

Oh man.... those delayed stuck episodes are the worst! I had that the other day at work (of course! lol). I was sitting there fine and then it was like..... ouch! ouch! ouch! Oh no.... I'm gonna throw up! Luckily I work in an office near the restrooms so I can just get up and walk away when needed. And yes, I believe 1st graders would definitely let you know if they noticed something (I have one brutally honest almost 2nd grader at home).

Haha! That's a great rule!

Sorry to hear about your rough spot here, but it will get better. Also, Snoopy is right... you know what works for you so communicate that to the doctor. Best wishes to you!

Oh man! Glad you made it in time. I just think I might throw up sometime with someone in there and it could spark a pregnancy rumor. Oh well... that will be quashed when I'm shrinking instead of growing! lol

ANY HOPE OF RESTRICTION AFTER FIRST Lap Band FILL????
SarahStLouis replied to Allison0927's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I had my first fill a week ago and it has made a world of difference! I didn't feel much restriction at all after surgery, but this fill sure did the trick! I have to eat slowly, chew really well and stay away from certain foods or else it gets stuck and/or comes back up. My surgeon put in 2cc's when the band was put in and then my first fill was 2ccs more. Let us know how it goes after your fill! -
Strange, indeed. I've been trying to stick with regular food because my doctor told me wanted me to get back on normal foods after one day of fluids, and then one day of mushies.... I guess it takes some getting used to. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just wondering the rationale behind the no caffeine, or very limited caffeine? Does it harm the pouch or stomach?

What is the rationale behind no caffeine?
SarahStLouis replied to SarahStLouis's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for the answers! I was feeling a little guilty today after a morning cup of joe, but now that I'm actually now fully awake and know the rationale behind what they say, I feel okay about it. -

Any june 2011 Banders???
SarahStLouis replied to shootingstar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only feel a slight difference from before surgery now. I switched to Protein bars from shakes because they seem to last longer keeping the hunger away. I go for my first fill in 2 more weeks so just gotta hold out until then. -
Does anyone do protein bars?
SarahStLouis replied to SarahStLouis's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Funny you should ask.... I just had one for Breakfast to try out. I think I looked at the wrappers of every bar at the store... this one was 180 calories and 20g of Protein. It's called Pure Protein Revolution and the flavor is chocolate Peanut Caramel. Granted, it didn't really taste like a Snickers... but it was a nice reprieve from shakes. -
Do you guys usually start your day off with a shake?

I got my first muscle milk light in a 4 pack at Target. It was chocolate and it tasted nasty so I ended up throwing them away. But no.... I don't know of any place that has samples.
-
Thanks for the suggestion! Just ordered it off of Amazon... can't wait!

Same here.... I had dermabond and got the clearance to go after one week.
