About Me

  • Gender
    Female
I had the surgery to place the band almost 2 years ago.  I have had adjustments roughly about every month to 6 weeks since.  They have gone up and down.  I have had issues with reflux and have had to sleep on multiple pillows to avoid help with the coughing and reflux.  I have not had much vomiting except before, at times where I had to be adjusted down. I am really not a big eater so I am surprised to learn from my Doctor that he feels the stomach has expanded above the band and I may need to have the band removed.  I am not happy about this after the expense and the thought that this was a long term adjustment to my life.  I have continued to lose weight although now it is very slow and usually is only due to an adjustment. I only have about 15 lbs. to a weight that I would be happy with but I am concerned that if the band is removed,, I will return to my pre surgery weight.  I do not get more than 5 hours of sleep at night due to work schedules and I am also in the middle of menopause.  I really am not happy that I have started this journey and it may be short lived.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
