****Warning. . . not so sweet thread ahead**** So, I got sick later Thursday afternoon. Felt like a stomach virus, threw up a few times, but became best friends with my bottle of phenagrin (sp) and have not thrown up since. (this is also when the diarrhea started) On Friday, I still did not feel all that well. I had normal stomach virus pains and the diarrhea got a little bit better. I was able to keep half a bowl of chicken noodle Soup down with some saltine crackers and later in the day, I had a bowl of tomato soup. Stomach continued to do that rumble thing it does when it's upset. Got up Saturday morning and felt pretty good. Ate my normal Protein bar with no issue. Ran a few errands and got home about noon and had a small wrap. Soon after lunch the diarrhea started back up and has not stopped since. I took Pepto that afternoon and it did nothing to stop it. Per my mother, later that night I ate a banana (she says this helps some how) and started taking Imodium AD. I took the max dosage (in a 24 hour period; as per the package states to do) through last night, and started to feel a little bit better. I went to bed about 11 and just got up about 6 and you guessed it. . .my best friend is still hanging around. I plan on going to the doctor this morning. My GP office has restricted weekend hours. But does anyone think I need to call my band doctor???? He has a little baby at home, so I really do not want to disturb him if at all possible. If this could be band related, I know he would want me to call, but I have been looking around and can't find where this is mentioned as a symptom of a problem at all.

Hey Melissa. I'm in Charlotte, I am not sure where Columbus is, but I use Dr. Vollenger with Southeast Bariatrics. I have my surgery with him Monday morning. I really like him and the rest of his staff. I wish you luck with your surgery. There is a larger group of NCers on the other board, band2gether.net. Please join us there. We also get together once a month for lunch, our next lunch is next Saturday.

Hey y'all! Does anyone use the bean? I have seen it on TV and it looks cool but before I spend $60 on it I would like to hear some personal testimony. Stacey :myscared:

I never said I was speaking for others. . . but as I read other post I see more and more just plain meaness and I am not the only one who has noticed this. . . Y'all enjoy your arguement with out thinking about others and how they may see y'all. I will go back to band2gether and get support and love from all. Have fun arguing and not supporting each other. And Lauend. . .I NEVER specified who disgusted me because it all does. In fact I am more disgusted with those who claim to know the love of Christ but can be so mean and condeming to people. And Tommy you sure seemed to be speaking for me or about me for that matter when you implied that I had no depth of character. I have plenty of courage to speak my mind (eg making this post) Enjoy your arguing

Therer is a huge difference in challenging beliefs and being mean to people. . .my skin is plenty thick and character extremely deep which is why I can search for support else where. I was simply expressing how you all may come across to others. For you to imply that my character is not deep enough to participate in this forum is nothing short of hateful and rude. Nothing said on this board has "hurt my feelings". I just wanted to remind you all that others are reading this and it may turn people off and they may not get the support they need. Remember the old saying when you point fingers, there three more pointing back at you. . . arguing about issues and belittling people in no way shows a "think skin and depth of character. Stacey

Wow . . .I can't believe this is still going on. When I first signed on, y'all were arguing over this and now weeks later you still are. . .I am a Christian and it really turned me off from this board as a whole. Remember as you all are going back and forth, there are others reading this. Some maybe just like me and be disguested by it all. I have found support else where, but others may not know where to look and may never get the support they need. Just something to think about. Stacey

I don't have a date yet. Hopefully we will know something soon

Hello all . . .I am currently working through all insurance stuff. Just waiting on an answer with that so we can schedule a surgery date. I am very excited to start this new chapter in my life. I currently live in Charlotte, NC with my husband of 4 years, Kevin. We don't have any children yet, (one of the reasons I am getting banded is to loose weight to have a healthy pregnacy in the future) I'm so glad to find such a great place to talk to others about the band. I am also a Dr. V patient. . . I am currently going through all the insurance stuff right now. I have finished everything else with Dr. V's office. I have to say, I am very impressed with the whole office. Dr. V and his staff really give you all the tools to be successfull in the long run. I have never met more caring people. Everytime I talk to some one there I am more and more impressed. I can't wait for my approval and to get on with my surgery so I can be the healthiest I can be! Stacey Charlotte, NC

I just purchased this DVD as well. . . I think it is great. It has different paces throughout the walk, but the host is always telling you that if need to lessen the intensity, just go a little slower. I have done the one and two mile portion, and it is difinitely still a workout.

Hi all. . . I am brand new to the board. I am in the pre-op stage here in Charlotte, NC. My doctor is Dr. Vollenger at Southeast Bariatrics. He is really great about letting you know what to expect. The pre-op work with him is very extensive. He has a psyc, exercise and nutrition specialist. You meet with them and email them weekly with your goals and how you accomplished them. It is great because he doesn't look at the WLS as an easy fix. He makes you work hard to make lifestyle changes before, so you can be more successful after. I don't know when my sugery will be, probably late spring, early summer. Any words of wisdom?
