SF Fudgecicles okay during liquid diet?

Hi, I just got my first fill today an the Dr. did say that SF popsicles and ices are a good idea. Very small liquid amount but satisfying and cold (especially if there is a little sweling). I am only on liquids today though, but he said I could start on regular food tomorrow (no more mushies!!!!) I had a Protein shake, pureed some beef veggie Soup till totally smooth and added a little beef broth to make it thinner then had a SF Fudgesicle today. I feel fine. Still full too.

    August 2011 Bandsters????

Good luck to everyone going into surgery this week! A11 here too Surgery was last week and I am feeling soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better!!! I had my first post-op Dr appt yesterday and lost 12 lbs since I was weighed pre-op last Wednesday!!! I can't believe how quickly I dropped. I am back up and working as of yesterday--but I did have a bad low blood sugar thing and I have to watch. I teach music to children so I got myself overheated and then the BS dropped like a stone. I will bring a small orange juice with me today. That should help. plus I am able to have food starting today. Other than a little port side pain, I am doing well. I slept a whole 8 hours uninterrupted last night. walking and sitting is ok so I think its gonna be better! To everyone looking to this week's surgery--it will be over quickly and you will not feel as bad as that first night again! Enjoy your down time, but don't veg. Allow your body to heal with activity. GO A-11 BANDERS!!! A clink of the liquid protein glasses!!! Linda

    August 2011 Bandsters????

I am doing ok with the liquid. I have found that the Atkins Carb busters premade shakes are really good! I can take it with me out and its easy and absolutely smooth and good! 15g protein in 190 cal shake is worth it! I am used to Medifast--have been on and off it for 3 years, and have lost 82lbs already with it, but I needed to find another way for loss. Banding is the answer for me. Only 3 more days (Aug 3) to go. I feel better this week on the liquid than last week when I was headachy and moody and really really crabby!!!! Nobody wanted to be around me last week! I find myself saying, Ooooooh make the days go fast, then saying Oooh I hope I have more time==go slow! Anxious but ready! To everyone banding this week, Here we go! We are taking that first step toward being the best we can be. Its never too late to live happily ever after!!!!!! url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wTWDSpj/] [/url]

    August 2011 Bandsters????

Hi Caryn, I will be an A11 with you! lol I started at 332 in June, and now (As of July 20) am down to 314. I started the Protein liquid last week. It really isnt so bad. My Dr, allows for chicken breast and salad once a day so there is a little variety. I am feeling like I have lost more---clothes are swimming on me. So now we have the countdown. 4 more days. Tuesday I am going to see Josh Groban the night before surgery---then have to drive to NY to drop off my friend then back home. Hospital call is at 6:00 AM! lol Guess I can sleep in surgery! I am trying to take things a little at a time and not get too wound up. I have too many things to look forward to in the weeks after surgery. I have a huge reunion on Saturday and Vacation Bible School I am working at the following two weeks. Then its back to teaching in Sept. Weight loss will come along for the ride. Hope the wait is bearable for everyone else. All the best, Linda <a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wTWDSpj/"> <img border="0"

    August 2011 Bandsters????

Hi. My Dr. does the upper GI after banding. Most do. Mine opted for an endocopy pre-op testing. Most of these tests are dictated by the insurance companies. I have United Health Care. They have one of the least restrictive of the requirements. I went May 29th for my first appointment and my surgery is schedule for Wednesday. My surgery time has been changed yet again. Started at 5:30 PM then moved to 3:45 PM now its 7:00 AM. I am up first for the day. I think I like being first on the table rather than the last! Dr. is fresher and ready to go, not rushed or tired. I am ready!!!!

    August 2011 Bandsters????

Surgery---August 3, 3:45PM Mountainside Hospital, Montclair NJ Hi. I am 7 days from my surgery, and starting to have emotional ups and downs. My emotions are on edge, and things are really bothering me! Everything is really bugging me. I am headachy and snapping at everyone! I am NOT like this. Could be the lack of food on the pre-op diet----I am probably not taking in enough calories. I am feeling anxiety and sadness over this decision. I keep thinking I am the one person for whom lapbanding will NOT work. Why would anyone elect to do this? I have a lot of responsibility at home (I am full-time caregiver for my mom) and I am feeling so stressed out this week. I made arrangements for another caregiver but thatis only for a couple of days. My sister will be here too, but she doesn't care for mom and is uncomfortable changing her diapers and washing her etc. I will have to take back over the job on Saturday (Surgery is Wednesday). I guess the worst part is that I have to be the strong one. the person that doesn't complain or have probems. I know I made this decision and am sticking by it because I need to do this for me and nobody else. I have put myself first and its a new role. After raising 6 kids and being a mother wife and teacher, I made this decision for my own health and welfare. I really just want to have a huge boo-hoo and get it all out. I can't do this at home though. I will probably go take a walk to the park with the dog and cry it out. Ah well, I will survive this and appreciate the chance to put words to my emotions.

    August 2011 Bandsters????

Hi! I am August 3 as well. One more week of waiting in which I have 3000 things to do in addition to the surgery. I am running a VBS music program the week after banding and have to get all the pre-liminary work done for that this week, as well as a reunion that I have been working on for the 6th of August. Both were planned a year before the surgery, but being a teacher, I have to get the band done before September school starts. I'll fit it in somehow! lol The best thing I am doing for me though, is August 2--night before the surgery, I am going to see Josh Groban in concert!!! I have wanted to do this for 10 years, so its a huge treat for myself. I think I won't have time to get nervous with all that beautiful music in my head!!! Can't wait!!! Have a great week yourself, and very very good luck to you as well. Linda Walsh
