How soon after vsg can gall bladder problems occur?

How soon after vsg can gall bladder problems occur?
SeattleSue replied to Rainydayz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could happen immediately because of rapid weight loss from pre-op dieting. Keep an eye on it. I don't remember much at all being 'mild' 'dull' or just 'achy'. An inflamed gallbladder feels like someone is stabbing you through the ribcage with an ice-pick. Gallstones felt like someone was tazing me on the inside...and passing a stone made me induce lamaze breathing, I turned white, I was shaking with pain, and perspiring with "contractions" that wrapped around my body in waves. Yeah, not pretty. -
Dito to the pills. Was taking them 1 day post-op (my meds)...and I don't mind the chewables, so I'm going to continue on the supply I have. As for getting all my Protein in...at about 5 weeks I am able to get all my protein in just with food. I have to say I TOTALLY agree with Douceur72 about the Protein shake being a good quick sub... 1 week without them and it seemed my calories went up almost 200/day. That's fine and all...but sometimes it's just nice to be done with it. This morning I had a shake for the first time in about a week and it was nice to have 27 grams off my radar. Meat/cheese/egg didn't sound appealing this morning. I can't even believe I said that out loud BAHAHA

I did not reach my goal :(
SeattleSue replied to brazcan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GO TO YOUR ROOM AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE DONE!!!! Then congratulate yourself on how far you've come, pick yourself up, tell yourself you CAN and you WILL do this. You will finish strong!!! -
I was on 50 mg lisinipril and within a week needed to reduce, I am now down to 30 mg. At one week post-op my BP dropped to 90/50 ish... I adjusted (self directed) to 40 mg and monitored for 4 days, never getting above 97/70...at 30 mg now, my dizziness is gone and I'm averaging about 110/75. I haven't lost any weight per se since hitting my 3 week stall, so the bp has also stabalized. Understand, it's not just the weight loss...but the severe reduction in food and sodium. lol

Looking for a Protein/coffe drink, please
SeattleSue replied to Texasmom65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey TM, Instead of the instant coffee cold frapp, try a cup of strong coffee (I LOVE my Keurig..sing cup, but you could use reg coffee or even a press.) Let the coffee cool cool below 130 since that is supposed to clump the Protein. Add your vanilla protein powder (if it's the skinny vanilla you like, don't add any other flavor). YOu can add any SF syrup (in a very small amount to avoid that aftertaste- 2 capfuls is plenty for me) and give a quick blend. I don't know, it's really a taste preference. -
Feeling a little discouraged.

Frame size and bone density, muscle mass...all these things will play a part. I'm 5' 7" and the last time I was 160 lbs (yes, decades ago) my father told me I looked ill. I was too skinny. Of course, I'm large framed, but I also must have extremely dense bones and a lot of muscle mass. 180 lbs is a size 10 for me... All that to say, it's fine to set a "goal" but you will find even the most experienced sleevers have had to make adjustments to their "goal" when it becomes a reality. LilMissDiva is a perfect example...muscle mass to the max. I believe, a size 4 at the moment. Amazing transformation... And she's just one of them on this site. Obviously on this site, you are going to find that we are "sleeve" minded for a reason. For me, it was THE only WLS choice. Best of luck. Don't give up...be proactive and call like someone already suggested. I'm SO thankful for my sleeve and my new life. -
Thank you to my wife!

YAY Mrs. Lopez!!! How sweet are you??!! -
At the mushy stage...perhaps a meatloaf, but it depends on what Proteins you've tried I guess. You may not want to try something for the first time away from the safety of your own home and bathroom! lol A baked potato may be good...depends what kind of restaurant it is; there could be numerous options. I actually had to "plan" how to eat a Soup because of the combo with liquid. You don't want to put meat and veggies in the bottom of the "funnel" and then pour liquid on top...so I actually think that soup is more difficult than you probably want when trying to be social. :-)

How exasperating...maybe I'll go 2 weeks before weighing!! I feel for you... The stall is bad enough. Are you exercising Nancy?? Just curious. I hit my 2 1/2 week stall, and it's been almost 2 weeks and I am "staying the course" but it is so tempting to change things up; but I really think it's too early for my body to have gotten complacent, you know? Maybe at a couple months, but not 2 weeks. Sooooo, wisdom has to prevail!!! Hang tough lady. PUt the stinking scale away if you have to because it's totally fickle right now. We can bring it back out and dust it off every once in a while, and maybe in a couple months when our body stops throwing it's tantrum because it's accepted that THIS time it is NOT going to dictate to us...maybe THEN we can take it out of time-out and return it to being part of our culture. Nancy, this flux is NOT reality...it's just the waring of the shock and awe phase!!!!

Gorgeous!! Look at you...how thrilling! Great job.
