I feel for you. I had to wait two years until Medicare covered the sleeve for my surgery which is on April 10th. Just breathe and know all of the test are necessary to ensure a good outcome from the surgery. You'll be sleeved soon and You'll have the comfort of knowing all the bases have been covered. Good luck to you!

My surgery date is April 10th and I'm just scared about the unkown. I haven't had any thoughts about backing out of it, which is good. Good luck to all of you! -
Help! I'm soooo very afraid of blood clots.
Yoli3925 replied to Super Echelon's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm glad to hear it's only a minimum of 10-15 minutes an hour I need to move around for. I had images in my mind of walking laps around my house for hours while in pain. -
I'm 23 days away from surgery and I have really began to grieve my former relationship with food. At this time, I just can't imagine a world where I will never be able to eat certain foods again. I'm an emotional eater and food has brought me comfort throughout my life but at great expense to my health. I've done the Atkins diet before and I was very successful losing 180lbs. I was on 20g of carbs a day all from vegetables but I gained it all back after reintroducing carbs (good and bad) back into my diet. I fear the sleeve's low-carb postop diet/lifestyle may not work for me and I won't be able to keep the weight off. I'm in counseling for my emotional eating but sometimes it just doesn't seem like it's going to be enough. Did any of you have concerns about your ability to follow a low-carb postop diet forever?

Grieving about forever
Yoli3925 replied to Yoli3925's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just wanted to thank you all for replying to my SOS. I have taken all of your advice to heart and it has brought me a lot of comfort. The worry thoughts are still present but now they aren't in the forethought of my mind so much. I realize grieving about forever is black and white thinking and just another form of self sabatoge just like Juny wrote. I want to be successful with the sleeve and I know this sleeve community will be a big part of any success I may have. Thanks! -

You are an inspiration. My surgery date is on April 10th and I have at least 225 lbs to lose in order to reach a normal weight. I sometimes question whether the sleeve will be a powerful enough tool but stories like yours puts my mind at ease. I can't wait to join you on the loser's bench. Keep up the good work! -
Medicare - Is anyone getting approved for VSG?
Yoli3925 replied to scsleever's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have Medicare and supplemental insurance; I was approved for surgery. My surgery date is April 8th and I live in Oregon. I believe there is an age limit on the proceedure; Medicare will only pay for those 60 or younger. The MAC for Oregon is Noridian. -
