How long did you research before you booked surgery
Yoli3925 replied to JosieMac's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I researched for two years, because I was waiting for my insurance to cover the sleeve. -
You look wonderful!

Lose weight before surgery?
Yoli3925 replied to JustJess1211's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started at 410 lbs and I needed to get down to lower bmi for surgery. The higher the bmi the more dangerous the surgery is how it was explained to me. -
Lose weight before surgery?
Yoli3925 replied to JustJess1211's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to lose 25 lbs before my surgery was even scheduled. I'm now on a pre-op diet to shrink my liver even more. -
You look so healthy!

I know how you feel. Good luck!

I would follow your therapist's advice and wait. I'm in therapy for my food addiction and I'm greatful for the time I've had to work on my relationship with food. The sleeve will still be there in six months and the additional work will only help you on your journey. Good luck!

fear and the food addiction
Yoli3925 replied to bethechange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had surgery yet, but I'm in therapy working on my food addiction. My therapist recommended the book "The Emotional Eater's Repair Manual" by Julie A. Simon. This book has a lot of good information in it and I now have a better understanding of why I overeat. I hope this helps. -

Big Mac, Filet-O-Fish, Quarter Pounder, French Fries, Icy Coke, Milkshakes, Sundaes and Apple Pie!
Yoli3925 replied to sexyjimenez's topic in Food and Nutrition
I don't want to be able to eat a whole Big Mac after surgery. I hope my restriction is better. My highgest weight was 410lbs and I feel this surgery is necessary to save my life. I know there may be moments when I'll eat a hamburger but I hope it is only a bite or two. Otherwise, this surgery is kind of pointless for me. It just scares me to think I'd be able to eat that much. I don't know? -

As a pre-op, this scares me. -
Thanks for the tip!
