HI Jboy, was the recovery time the same?

Hi Guys! I was banded in November of 2011, I had lost a total of 130 pounds before I began to have complications. Last October, I spent my honeymoon in Dominican Republic, I got very sick while on my trip and was non stop throwing up. When I came back to the states I began to have complications, acid reflux, throwing up in my sleep, stuck all of the time. I ended up in the emergency room in November and was completely unfilled. When I had an upper GI, they could see that my band had slipped and I had the pouch over the band (Forgot the medical term). The past four months have been crazy for me and I had been unable to have a follow up until today. Once again the Upper GI test showed the same thing. I did not get to meet with my surgeon today and will not be able to until next Wednesday. The DR that performed the test said, he doesnt believe I will need surgery because I am not having any bad symptoms, however he also does not believe that my DR will give me a fill (Which I BADLY NEED). I am freaking out, please share your experiences with me!

Hi guys!! I was banded over a year ago. I'm down 101 pounds since my surgery and things have been going fantastic up until my last fill. For the past week I have been waking up with this Terrible taste in my mouth and feel like I have to throw it up to get it out because if I cough the taste comes up worse. I can't explain the taste! The strange thing is I don't feel too tight, I eat and don't feel that bloated feeling but this strange thing keeps happening ;( has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Guys! I recently had a fill, I believe I am at 4cc in a 10cc band. I was feeling fine and was able to get everything down without a problem until today . I tried drinking cofee this morning and even that felt like it was getting stuck. I don't think my band is over filled because like I mentioned before I have been eating fine, I had enough restriction. I'm starving but I'm afraid to eat anything because I HATE that stuck feeling. Is there a reason why my band would be tight out of no where? Is there anything I can do to loosen my band without getting an "unfill"?

Hi Guys! I was banded in November and have lost 60 pounds since but can feel myself going back .. I recently gained five pounds and I know it does not seem like much but to me it was a huge setback. I want to start all over again and get as committed as I was when I was first banded. Do you guys have any feedback on how I can start over? Do any of you know of any good liquid diets?

Thanks for all of the positive feedback!! It's strange I've had a full and do feel restriction but soon after I feel like I'm starving! Idk if it's in my head, if I just want to pick at something or if I'm actually hungry. I have been exercising but due to a back injury I haven't been able to work out as much as I would like. Does anyone else with restriction feel hungry soon after eating? What do you guys usually do when this happens?

Hey guys! I was wondering if any of you could help out a bit. One of my husband's best friends suddenly passed away this past Sunday, he was only 36. I am trying to raise some money for his 3 kids, unfortunately their mother also passed away just 4 months ago and now they have been left alone. They are only 16,11 and 8, they need any help they can get. My heart is so torn up about this and I don't want to feel as if I did nothing to help them. I'm confused as to why your surgeon recommended you stay away from it. The mm I drink has 25g protein/ 3G of sugar... Was there something else in it that made him tell you to stay away from it?

I weigh myself twice a day, once when I wake up then again before going to sleep. I know it seems a bit obsessive but it works for me.

I use the carnation instant breakfast chocolate. It's really good and has a decent amount of protein.

Hi guys! I'm a bit curious about something. I have read a ton of blogs and it appears that everyone is put on different post op diets and I have also read that many people have had different weight loss. I was wondering if maybe the post op diet has anything to do with the way you lose weight in the long run. My diet right now is 2 weeks liquids (no sugar), 1-2 weeks mushies then solids. What were some of your diets and how much have all of you lost? -N

Hi All, My surgery is scheduled for this Monday and I have failed at the pre-op diet. I have consumed all of the Protein in the world but instead of eating the one a day Smart one meals I have been eating things I wasn't supposed to, such as Asian style chicken and Broccoli with Rice, pizza and creamy Soups . I know it sounds horrible but I honestly haven't been overeating I just haven't been eating right. Should I cancel my surgery or is there a chance I can still shrink my liver? If so, I will have 3 days to do it. Please help! -N

Hi guys! I was banded this past Monday. After reading through everyone's blogs for 6 months I didn't expect to feel much pain, silly me! Not only did my incesions hurt I was also incredibly nauseous the entire night, they couldn't put me on stage one of the diet. The worst part was that because I never ate or drank every time I got nauseous I would dry heave which killed my stomach. I couldn't even go for a walk that night, even taking two steps to the bathroom made me dizzy. The next morning I woke up hoping to feel better and even though thankfully I wasn't nauseous I now had the dreaded gas pains accross my neck and collar bone. I can't even describe the pain but contrary to how some people like to describe it, it's not just "uncomfortable" it is very painful. After a few hours they finally started me on the diet and released me from the hospital once I advanced to stage 3 without throwing up. Last night was pretty brutal, my stomach hurt as well as my collar bone but I woke up in a much better place today. I really wish that 6 months from now I look back and know that it was worth it!

Hi guys! I'm being banded this Monday and was wondering if I'm forgetting something. Is there anything you guys would recommend I buy or have on hand for the day of and the days after surgery?

I read about so many different pre op diets idk why I was soo nervous! I hope all goes well tomorrow. Thanks guys you all helped put my mind on ease. Say a little prayer for me, I get banded at 11:30 tomorrow morning.

Oh God! I'm dreading the gas pains! This may seem like a silly question, should I bring pjs or am I supposed to stay in the hospital gown?
