    Reaching Goal

i am 1wk shy of my 10 month post op date & i have 21lbs to lose before hitting my goal. i highly doubt i will lose 21lbs in 2 months but im pretty sure that if i tried really really really hard, i would & could. im going to start hitting the gym & im going to work hard at toning my body & losing these next 21lbs. im down 117lbs right now.
  2. happy belated birthday to you! & god bless u! keep us all updated. we are all rooting for you!!!
  3. i read dr robles and i read one bad story about her which kind of scared me. i was looking into her too. i spoke with a few surgeons and theres one that has even done videos and i think i want to go with him who has great reviews but might quote higher than other drs

    Hair Loss

im 10 months post op. i started losing my beautiful, thick long (down to my butt) hair at about 3-4months post op. i would have to say that i lost 7/8ths of my hair. i now have very thin hair. i lost so much hair that its all uneven & horrible looking. my hair line receeded horribly but started growing back some recently. i mean, i do see growth so i guess "it does grow back" but the process of it falling out & then actually growing in a nice length is a crazy depressing time! i even did a video on youtube showing the CHUNKS of hair that came out of my head. i wish my hair looked like my main pic! i was taking Biotin & biosil drops but ive since fell off but i am going to start taking them again as i dont want to be bald forever
  5. i think lissa answered this question well and someone else did too. its not so much as what you cant have but its more of what you dont want. i was addicted to pepsi & juice before. id drink about 3 cups if juice a day & 2-3 cups of pepsi a day. im now 10 months post op & too much sugar makes me nauseous (juice) & i stopped soda pre op & have no desire to try it! you get to a point where you try some things & it makes you sick so you no longer crave it but if you do, you try it again & learn the hardway until you no longer want it. i can sip juice but after a few sips, im like blaaaaah! too much sugar. i like to stick to Water.
  6. nope! no typo. butt shots consist of silicone & its not in anything so the silicone can travel into your blood & if it does, nothing can be done. youll die.
  7. i also think it depends on procedure. some drs will actually sit there and do butt shots which can def kill! i think things can go wrong anywhere. the place really has not much to do with it. if youre a licensed dr, u learn all the same crap and do all the same crap! i think drs in other countries probably perform more surgeries than anyone else in the US! me personally, i always hear DR when i hear plastic surgery. i guess in a way, that juust gives me more comfort. i even had a humor graphic sent to me that shows this time machine looking thing with a fat lady getting in on one side & on the other side, she comes running out with huge perfect boobies, a tiny waist & huge butt lol. it said "dominican creator" on the time machine thingy. lol. not down playing columbia one bit but i never really hear stories from there. actually, i do knowsomeone who went there for lipo. also, DR is closer to me. i just got a quote from another doctor in DR for $6000 for everything that i want. i just have to pay for hotel room
  8. theres a girl that went to columbia on youtube. her name is skymoon1982 & they messed her up bad. look her up
  9. theres a girl who went to columbia and got really sick & found a dr in the us who helped her & saved her. she caught a very bad infection from the tummy tuck her dr in columbia gave her and they did the tummy tuck all wrong. her youtube name is skymoon1982
  10. my fear with out of the country work is just the fact that its put of country and i know there are different rules/laws. thats truly my only fear. here, surgery is almost triple compared to there. i talked to my WLS surgeon and he gave me the # to a surgeon but that would be all out of pocket & pretty much impossible for me to pay for. id be saving for the rest of my life lol. im not getting it done no time soon but i will be going to a local surgeon to see what is realistic and what he says about the work i want done and to see prices. im puerto rican but speak it very little. i think if DR was an english country, id feel safer. i dont know why lol. i guess im afraid that i wont understand something although the surgeon ive been conversing with speaks english! i dont know. lol. my bestfriend went to DR and got her boobs done with her sister and they loook great.
  11. in my opinion, DR seems like the place to go for surgery because everyone goes there. the us is good and safer but almost triple in price as uppose to going out of the country. i think its all a matter of preference. i feel more comfortable here because im from here! but if i were born in DR and came to the US to live, id feel more confortable over there, you know? i am scared to go & scared of the possibilities of things going wrong but that can happen anywhere you go.
  12. im personally afraid to go anywhere that no one i know hasnt been to. the dr im rolling with is the same dr that does all my friends family & friends. i live in ny and they pretty much call DR the plastic surgery country. lol
  13. i talked to my surgeon & he told me my insurance wouldnt cover because its not medically needed. unless its hanging badly, red & smelly... i thought that was ridiculous so im def looking to go to DR to get mine done since thats the plastic surgery place to be! lol.
  14. i dont "regret" surgery because its a distant memory but i would never do the sleeve again if i had to! i cant imagine going thru that type of sickness again!
  15. i started at 273lbs. i weighed myself 2 days ago and i was 158lbs. my bmi went from 51.6 to 29.9. according to online bmi calculators, i am officially no longer OBESE! i am considered overweight. im so happy! i wear a size 6ish in jeans. some of the 6s fit a lil loose & some are skin tight. this surgery has truly put me through hell but im glad i am alive and living!

  21. hey guys! a lot of you may know me from the complications section of this site but in case you dont, im jasleeve! i wanted to update you guys on everything that has been going on. you can find out more about my journey on youtube.com/jasleeve. i go into details about everything! quick run through.. im 23 from ny. i was sleeved on dec 20th, 2011. i started at 273lbs. 2wk pre op & first 3wks post op were hard being that i couldnt drink Protein shakes. i lived on Water only. 4th&5th week were better after getting in food. it was also when i threw up bile 2x. after contacting my nurse practioner, i was sent for a 2nd swallow test (1st one was taken day after surgery & showed no leak). thats where my world crumbled! they found a leak. i was hospitalized for 2 wks & they placed a stent in me. long story short, the stent made me horribly sick. i threw up constantly every single day. after several ER visits, 3 emergency surgeries, & billion dr appts, no eating the entire month, no picc line & 1 month later, they removed the stent & it has been uphill since! i have EXCESSIVE hairloss which is so depressing! i had hair down past my butt. very thick & full. now, i am literally going bald. :'( ive upped my protein, take Biotin pills & biosil drops. nothing works. as far as weightloss goes, im now 180 as of a few days ago. i lost a total of 93lbs! i feel great. yes, i get sick if i eat the wrong foods at times. i dont count carbs or calories. i live my life as i choose to. but i do lean towards healthier foods because those sit better in me. i want to go down to 165 & see how i look & if im not where i want to be, ill go down to 145. i went from a size 18-20 in stretch jeans to a size 8 in stretch jeans. i have yet to step foot inside a gym but i plan to, soon! my confidence has multiplied. im beautiful and happy with my results. i have some insecurities but who doesnt? would i have surgery again if i had to? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! the risks are too great for me to go thru again. for my ladies!! men... you may not want to read on. as far as pcos goes, i get my period every month now but its not always on time. i am sometimes a few days early and sometimes a few days late. as far as boobs go, i was a 42-44DDD. well, i stuffed my boobs in them! now, i am a 36DDD. only thing is, the DDD is still too small but i have lost boobs!!!! they even have extra skin now & they sag but still have some perkyness to them. i DEFINITELY want a boob job! lol. lets see what happens.
  22. im at my drs appt and everyones like OMMGG
