jasleeve replied to GetInMyBelly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
youre so very welcome! we need support & thats what im here for. id want someone to do the same for me in a month! lol. i am doing better. im on antibiotics. i need to be 100% for surgery. lol. as far as gallstones, the pain would be more on ur right rib than all the way down by your waist. i had my gallbladder removed two yrs ago after having a gallbladder attack. i pray you start feeling better soon & its not anything major! -

Surgery on the 14th.. any tips?
jasleeve replied to LeLe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
hey! im sorry my response has nothing to do with your thread but i have to say it... i love reading & responding to every post! especially ones with headlines like this! but, when the font is in fancy writing like urs & light colors, i literally cant make out the words. the print is so thin that its hard for me to read. anytime i open a post & its not in standard text, i just close it and move on. not telling you to change it because of me... just saying that some of us blind bats may not reply because we cant read what it says! but good luck on your surgery! <3 -
a week isnt too bad. id probably wouldhave my hair pulled out and nails bitten off by then but not too bad! ive heard 2-3 weeks before. lol. im really praying for dec 19th or 20th. its PERFECT for my schedule & my mom went ahead & took off work. also, it gives my insurance time to approve me! i work with kids so id only have to take 1 week off work dec 19th-23rd & then schools are out from dec 26th - jan 2nd & id go back to work on jan 3rd which consist of driving & walking. i think i could manage well. lol. only issue might be buckling their seat belts.

with my dr, i was required to get all my testing done & then once all my testing was complete & i was cleared, then they schedule me to meet the surgeon & then schedule my surgery date the day of meeting with my surgeon. as far as testing, i was required to get a chest xray, blood work, psych eval, sleep study, upper gi, cardiac clearance (cardiologist), approval from primary dr & thats it. some people are required to go to a pulmonologist (i think thats how its spelled) to check for blood clots. i had got all my testing done the 1st month except cardiac clearance. she wanted me to wait until the 5th month which is this month & i got it done & had it sent in already! i also meet with my pcp every month along with meeting my nutrionist every month (6month supervised diet). dec 1st makes my 6months complete. if u have all ur testing complete, u may be getting a date when you have your consultation with your surgeon. good luck love! keep us posted!

i forgot to add that im terrified because ima fast food eater. i eat fast food everyday, for every meal! i scarf them down within 5-10minutes! maybe less. this is going to be a huge adjustment and struggle but i know that ill never change if i dont do something extreme & wats more extreme than removing 85% of my stomach? lol. but i gotta do what i gotta do! -

im not sleeved yet so i cant say for sure but from what i hear, the bad foods dont agree with u too much so it wouldnt feel good eating them after a few throw up sessions. also, if they r bad for u, they will fill u faster which means ull be eating an even smaller portion. u just have to really say to urself, "i went to the EXTREME to lose weight. when im down 75-120lbs (not sure how much u want to lose), ill snack on bad foods but for now, let me stick to this plan!" the 1st 9months is the weight thatll be hard to gain back so maximize that # & go from there! i hope this answered ur question. -
