    Safety in Juarez Mexico?

hi! I am going to Juarez in September.. I am sure you will be fine!! You know, alot of places are not that great to be in if walking alone at night... I live in Montreal, and we have more than our share of murders... If we were to begin worrying about all the dangerous places, we would never leave home.. Stay positive, good luck for the op.. and have fun!!
  2. Hi! Just wondering if anyone esle out here will be in Juarez that week? I will be scheduling my surgery today! that would be week.. not weel.. clearly I also need some kind of spelling surgery

  10. ok..here is a question: I already feel that I look good. Ok ok..I KNOW I am big, but I still think I look good. This has probably been the biggest factor in my not losing weight over the years... seriously, you would think if I thought I looked really bad..it might motivate me more... ok.. so the question is: how will I be able to stay motivated? What if after x amount of pounds I am like.. wow.. ok..I can stop eating well now... ????? I am certainly not the only BBW out there....
  11. yay! thanks guys.. I hear you.. I am the party girl, the one who was never without a boyfriend.. even now, at the ripe old age of 40, if I am out with friends without my hubby, I will usually get hit on (which is in no way a meaure of my beauty... you should see some of the guys..hehehe) but yes.. I feel like that too. I went to a few pre-surgery meetings here in Montreal, and honestly, felt really bad when it came to explaining myself.... one of the exercises was to list 20 things that was hellish about being fat... I was able to name 7, mostly health related. When came my turn in the group session, the others around the table were looking at me strangely that I had no self esteem stuff... I am not saying I never feel bad (we all have our days), but my size does not stop me from doing things.. I travel, i wear my bathing suit proudly, I generally strut my stuff... anyway.. THANK YOU! I knew I was not alone out there!!! REALLY skinny jeans here I come!
  12. excellent! thanks so much! I have found so much info here.. really great!! Sorry about your dad.. it really changes our outlook, losing a parent. Thanks again!
  13. hi! yes.. for health reasons. (and of course shopping will be even more fun!!) (for me.. not my bank account!) my mom passed away from complications to diabetes.. I promised I would take care of me...
  14. I will and have been telling everyone the truth. Actually, my initial decision was to have Lap Band, now I have decided to go for the sleeve. I think it is a personal decision, all depends on how you feel about it. I tend to be an open book, and my entourage (including work-I have been in the same sport all my life, as an athlete, coach and now administrator) has seen me struggle with my weight forever... so for me, I am quite comfortable with telling the truth. I had a major burnout a while back, and I have worked very hard at learning to take care of ME. This is part of it (the surgery).. the other part is that I am now surronding myself with people who are positive , accepting etc. As for those who care to make snide remarks, so be it..let them!
  15. hi! I am Canadian too (montreal) and will probably be going alone, unless my husband makes it back from Europe in time. From reading these posts almost obsessively over the past week, I am sure it will be fine alone!! Good luck, and let us know how it was!:thumbup1:

Hi guys! I am in Montreal, and as you all know, us Quebecers like to be different from the rest of the country... Government will not pay for out of province/out of country surgeries.. Cost of sleeve in Montreal 19,000 Wait time public system is 4 years... SOOO.. I am off to Mexico... in september probably, as I have to travel for work in August (really would have liked to have it done yesterday!!) Anyone going in September? to Juarez I think... have not finalized yet, so any onfo will be great!
