I have not had surgery yet. I had a consult with the surgeon yesterday, and I felt like he was trying to talk me out of having it done. I need to lose 75lb, 9 of which he wants me to lose myself. The doctor told me that since I did not have "too" much to lose, that I would probably only lose 25lbs altogether with the lap band. I would like to know if there has been anyone in my same situation, that didnt need to lose "too' much ( I think its alot), that has had the lap band, and lost the weight. My starting weight is 209 lbs.he said I should weigh 145 lbs. I am very confused now. If I am only going to lose 25 lbs, it doesnt make sense to do the lap band. I did ask him if I could possible lose more, and he did say , yes. My problem has always been that I lose some weight and gain that plus more back. It has been going on like this for about 6 years. This is the heaviest I have been and I am miserable.
Thanks alot
