Mary, Thank you for responding to my post. It's comforting to hear your message. I'm making sure that everyone that sent me a pm about this thread reads it. Thanks.

For others who are experiencing not losing weight, there is a group on yahoo, strugglingbandsters, that will help us address our issues. Thank you BandAid for your suggestions. I received several responses from people who said that they experienced what you are describing.

Thanks to all who are responding by pm to this. Please keep it up - the information is very helpful. Alexandra, this is more of a problem than you might think!!

I'm sorry. I was banded in late June, not July. My mistake.
-
I'm not losing any weight! I lost about 10 pounds within 2 weeks of the surgery and haven't lost any since. I eat a bowl of cereal with milk for bfast, tuna or chicken salad for lunch, fish or meat for dinner with salad. In between I'll have a piece of fruit and a few crackers. I'm drinking lots of water. I should be losing - I'm eating a lot less than pre-band. But no weightloss after 2 fills. I'm getting pretty scared. I can't believe I've spent all this money and have gone through this whole process not to have it work. Anyone else in this predicament?

Was banded late July. 1st fill I felt no restriction. Just had 2nd fill and I'm feeling restriction but I'm not losing weight. What's up? I can't believe Ive gone through surgery and 2 fills and I'm not losing. I walk quite a bit every day and my food intake is way down. Has anyone had the surgery and still not lost weight?
-
You are not to eat or drink at least 2 hours before a fill.
-
My understanding is that if you are not feeling restricted enough, you should come in pretty quickly for more fill - like 1 week - so that your weightloss can get started.
-
Had a 2nd fill after I didn't get much restriction with the first one. This 2nd fill was a breeze after a difficult first one. However, I don't feel much restriction with this one either. What gives?

Coffeewench, Thanks for your reply. I feel much better. I was thinking that something must be wrong and I would have to have another surgery to correct it. I've also heard that scar tissue can begin to cover the port, making insertion difficult. Now I hope I'll go back in and get more fill and I'll be good to go. My doc did numb the area, so it didn't hurt. But there was a lot of jostling around and now I'm a little bruised and sore. I hope next time isn't too bad. How soon after the first did you get your 2nd fill?
-
Wow! Those sound like difficult fills. You are describing pretty much what happened to me. But I wonder why I'm not feeling at all restricted. Maybe he didn't fill it enough?

He used x-ray

Anyone else have a difficult time getting a fill? Took a long time to find the spot to inject and then had a difficult time inserting the needle - bent 2 of them. Now I feel no restriction at all - just like I never had a fill at all. This was my first one. This was not a good experience. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Good Luck on your fill. Please come back and tell us how everything went.
