I'm a 37 year old married mother of two very active children. My husband and I are both professionals with very busy work schedules. Both of my sweet babies were born within two and they both weighed very near 10 pounds. In the last ten yrs I've managed to double my ideal body weight. After living a life of a tall, thin, active and attractive woman, the stress of work, raising a family, and marriage I've decided that I had to get things under control! Or I would not be here in the future for my children. They are only 5 and 6 years old. And I also wanted to support a healthy body image and healthy lifestyle for them. I debated having LapBand placement for nearly three years. On january 2 2011, I attended a close family friend's birthday party. I saw a picture that was taken of the entire group. I was appalled! My appearance was grotesque! I couldn't believe that I'd not "seen" myself before this time. I knew what I had to do! My mind was made up and the switch was finally flipped. Within a week a started seeing my internist monthly for the six month track. I attended a seminar, saw a dietitian/nutritionist and started eating healthy. Banding was 06.14.2011! I'm ready for a new life!
