Life after gallbladder removal
Mommyto2 replied to SarahS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine out a little over a week ago at almost 3 months out from VSG! I am struggling! I feel great. Went back to work on postoperative day 3, but I can't eat anything without hurting! I am all of the sudden having a hard time getting protein and liquids! Needless to say my stall is broken but my hair was falling out slowly and just yesterday clumps started falling out! I haven't found anything I can eat without hurting! Ugh!!!!! -
I cannot wait to be able to zip a pair of boots over my calf!!!!! That is awesome.

I struggled with this the first month out but I am now 3 months out and somewhere about 3-4 weeks ago I quit struggling with this. It is much easier!

Do the Staples scar over?
Mommyto2 replied to Happy Camper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I unfortunately had to have my gallbladder removed last thursday at almost 3 months out. My surgeon said everything looked great. No exposed staples. He does sew the stomach over the staples though so that probably makes a difference. The staples that are there do not have sharp points to hurt other organs... But scar tissue can form between them and other organs. -
Thank u both so much! It feels great!

Would you sleeve again?
Mommyto2 replied to Ellie4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only 7 weeks out from surgery and I would absolutely do it again. I had no health problems other than 100lbs excess weight and the probelms that the future held, and I had a husband that wasn't very supportive. However, since surgery, he has even said that wether I lost anymore weight or not, it was worth it. I feel so much better! It is the best thing I could ever do for myself. -
Has this happened to you?
Mommyto2 replied to FishingNurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It has happened to me when I ate too fast! -
I am 6 weeks out and have had two awesome NSV's. First.... I walk and run on treadmill every night. My husband finally decides to join me in the exercise room for the first time last night. As I was running he just stared at me and said "I am amazed!". He couldn't believe I was actually running! :-) Second.... Took my kiddos to a program and my three year old got tired....when he climbed in my lap in the small seat, I actually had a lap for him to sit in and neither one of us was uncomfortable! Woohoo! I am loving the sleeve!!!

Mommyto2 replied to HDubSleevery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been doing chobani vanilla Greek yogurt... 16 gprotein and 13g carbs. Have finally reached protein goal everyday this week eating that twice a day. Even stayed below 30g carbs. -

I am 4 weeks out and finally did it. I have hit my protein goal without going over on carbs and gotten my water in for the last 4 days! Better yet, I did it without protein drinks!!!!

Having a super difficult time eating SLOWLY!!!!!!!
Mommyto2 replied to italianlady13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I fell victim tonight trying to get food in before church. Wound up sliming for the first time. I was actually wishing it would come back up. Misery.... Don't think I will be forgetting that real soon....
