  1. Tomorrow will be a week since I had my sleeve. I have been having a very difficult time getting all my liquids in. Yesterday, I felt great. Today, not so much. I have felt lethargic and sleepy all day, even though I slept 12 hours last night. I have done better about my liquids today as far as getting them in. I've already gotten in about 28 ounces of liquids and about 1/4 cup of applesauce. Those of you that had to go back to the hospital for dehydration, what are the symptoms? I am just SOOOOO afraid of that. Any info you could give would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks so much!!!!
  2. Okay so I need some help. I had my VSG done on Tuesday, March 22nd. Today is the first day that I actually feel like a human being. I threw up (really dry heaved stomach bile) for the first 48 to 72 hours after surgery. I am not in a lot of pain but I can't even think about getting in 64oz. of fluid. I am doing good to get 20 oz. a day in. I am sipping constantly but the gas and gurgling is AWFUL. I decided that all the nausea meds and pain meds prescribed by the doctors is what is causing the nausea so I quit those. I even threw up plain tylenol. I know a couple months down the road I will be happy with my sleeve. But right now, I can't help but wonder what I have done to myself. Any advice/suggestions to get me through these next few days would be greatly appreciated!!!
  3. So my sleeve date has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 22nd. This means that today started my liquid diet. It wasn't as bad as I expected. I am just a little weak and have had a mild headache all day. I am thinking of it as 1 day down and only 13 to go. LOL! I am super excited about surgery but am VERY nervous also. I would appreciate any hints or tips any of you could offer to help make this 2 week liquid diet a little easier! Thanks so much!
  4. So I am 5 1/2 months into my 6 month insurance requirements for approval for the gastric sleeve. I have finished my support group meetings and have one more visit with the dietician on February 4th. After that I will get my insurance approval and then surgery is on April 5th. I am a teacher and have scheduled surgery during my spring break to avoid too much time off work. I am excited about my surgery and excited that I've found a place to have support from. My husband is my number one support saying that he can't wait until I lose the weight because he is ready for me to see myself the way he's always seen me. : ) I am writing this post to request any pre-surgery advice that any of you could offer to help make life after surgery easier. I have already cut my caffeine intake by 75% and I am starting to exercise. I look forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks ahead of time for all the support!
