  1. My vote for the hardest goes to the 2 week pre-op diet too. I think the combination of cutting out sugar and carbs, along with the massive cut in calories, shocked my system. I was so hungry, had a few days of head aches and was so cranky it's a wonder my family put up with me! My rec overy was smooth and much easier than I had anticipated. I would just say to take the 2 weeks before and the 2 weeks after, one day at a time.....after that it's truly a breeze! Oh, and I'm with Lissa too....realizing that working out would now be a part of my life was also a bummer lol I enjoy it now, but I've never considered myself an athlete or "fit" by any means!!

    Compression Spanx

I wear a cami style compression thing-a-ma-jig. I ordered mine from Amazon but have since seen them at Walmart for about 15 dollars. I've gotten to the point where I wear mine almost every day. I like the way everything is "smoothed" out and I feel a lot more comfortable with it on :-)

    So Nervous

Breathe and take this one minute at a time! :-) You are not alone. This is a such a rollar coaster of emotions and I remember wanting to rip my iv out and run before they took me back. Soon it'll all be behind you and celebrating your new healthy life!! Wishing you nothing but the best!!

Really Hating My Family Right Now :-(

Temptation stinks!! Hang in there my friend!
  6. You would think it would be as simple as calories in and calories out!! I just have to remind myself that I can't lose every single day. I sort of chalk it up to my body needing a break or needing a chance to readjust a bit. I will say, whenever the scale slows down I break out the tape measure....sure enough, things begin reshaping! By the way, you're blog is amazing! I look forward to your entries every week! Kristin
  7. This is a wonderful NSV!! Congrats to you!!!

    Unjury Products

I really like it! I especially liked it during the all liquids phase because I got so sick of the sweet shakes. It was a nice change to have something warm and savory. I will say that you have to be careful not to overheat it or it will get funky. No complaints though!

    So Happy With My Decision

Love that! I'm right there with ya!
  10. I have a 3yr old, 10 yr old, and a 13 yr old. I decided to be pretty up front and honest with my 2 older ones because it's not just the surgery...it's the new lifestyle you will be adopting. I didn't want them to think that my lack of food and my hospital stay was a scary, bad thing...rather, a good and positive thing! I told them that I was worried about my health and wanted to be here for a very long time. That, my doctor was going to put me to sleep and do a little work on my stomach so that I wont feel hungry all the time and wont need to eat as much. I also explained how my diet would change afterwards but that it was all with the hopes of getting healthy. They had a few questions but both seemed ok. Day of surgery they were nervous, but my recovery was smooth and they were able to see that all was well. Good luck to you! P.S. I totally agree with Pennie...focus on healthy, not skinny! :-)

    Talking Myself Out Of It!

You're going to do great!! I can totally relate to the nerves though. The days leading up to my sleeve, I must've talked myself out of it 100 times! I'm not 6 months out and could not be happier....soon you'll be on the other side and SO glad you've done it! Take care and wishing you all the best!
  12. You've got this! Best of luck to you!!

Are You Buying Sexy Clothes Now?

I am too! :-) One of my favorite NSV's to date was my shopping splurge at Victoria's Secret! I never realized how ugly my old duds were until now! Back to matching bra and panty sets AND loving that when my husband folds the laundry, he has to ask if the panties are mine or my daughter's (she's 10!!)!!

    Anyone Else? (Possibly Tmi)

I've noticed this also! I never used to have trouble but now if I sit a certain way my tail bone begins to hurt. I've started to put a little pillow behind my back and I've started watching how I sit. In a way it's sort of a NSV...your new boney butt!

    Anyone Feeling Moody?

Oh my gosh! I was just telling a friend of mine this last night! I feel like I'm always blaming something on my sleeve (always cold, cant eat and drink at the same time, now I'm moody! lol)! I've noticed that some of the same things that never bothered me before, make me crazy now! I'm hoping it's the hormones and I'm hoping that things settle down soon! You are not alone my friend! :-)
