Virus Or I Ate The Wrong Thing?
his2my2our4 replied to RissyRoe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds like how I feel after I eat tuna fish...which I used to love, but now shudder at the thought! I would lean towards it being something you ate...take it slow and take care of yourself! -
I think this has been my favorite compliment so far!!

Need Motivation To Start Working Out
his2my2our4 replied to JamaicanGirl2011's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Forgive me if this comes across blunt, I truly don't mean for it to .....don't over think it. Get up, lace up your sneakers and MOVE IT!!! I know for me, the second I start thinking about working out, I start thinking about how I need to fold laundry and I only have 20 minutes before my daughter needs to be picked up, it's too hot or it's too cold....any amount of time, any amount of activity is better than sitting on your bum and thinking about it! Get up and go girl ~ YOU are worth it!! -
I Want To Cry... :(
his2my2our4 replied to gelen's_change's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, take the next 6 months to really commit to some of the new habits you'll need to adopt! :-) I remember when I first heard that I needed the 6 months worth of weigh ins and it almost pushed me away. Then I realized that 6 months is going to pass whether I move toward this goal or not....best to make the most of that time. I'm sorry you are disapointed but try and spin it to a positive. You now have 6 months to kick soda, start a new workout plan, reduce carbs, not eat and drink at the same time....You've got this! Take care! -
YUMM!!! I was thinking trying strawberries too!!!!

Let me first say, I did not have a leak and certainly don't have the knowledge to say if you do or not. What I do know is, if you're scared or think something is wrong, please follow your gut and have it checked out! Whether that means calling the doctor over and over, or sitting on the line until you make your point...or going to the ER. You know your pain and your symptoms better than anyone...if you think something is wrong, check it out. It would be better to have it checked out and know that there's nothing wrong just for the peace of mind than worrying yourself sick....and God forbid something is wrong, you'd want to have it corrected as soon as you can! Take care of yourself!!

Dad Almost Died From Sleeve
his2my2our4 replied to SleeveNoob's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow what a scary road for him...and for you too I'm sure!! I'm so glad to hear that both of you are doing well! Well wishes and prayers that his recovery continues to go well! -
Congrats!!! I know you must be doing a big ol happy dance!!!

I can only speak for myself but if I eat slowly I'm ok. I have a few trigger foods which turn my stomach upside down....obviously I avoid those no matter where I am! I think for most of us, if we vomit, we can pinpoint why. Take safe foods with you and eat at a turtle's pace and you should be ok

I was given a card that states that I have had wls and should be allowed to order from the kid's menu or at a buffet, charge the kiddie price. I have only used it once because more often than not, the healthier options are on the adult menu. Anyway, I think the card only requests the restaurant to give the lower price..it isn't a gurantee. I was charged a senior citizen price which fell between the children's price and the adult price. Hope that helps! :-)

Welcome and congrats on your upcoming sleeve date!

Feeling Ashamed....
his2my2our4 replied to PeaceLove&Tash's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're absolutely not alone on this one!!!! I decided to tell only a very few people...and even now 8 months later, haven't told another person. I was ashamed also, almost like I was giving in or taking the easy way out (which we all know is completlely crazy!). I think I was scared that it wouldn't work for me and I would be guilty of falling into the yo yo thing again...and how humiliating would that be? I even find myself fudging how much I've actually lost because I cant believe I had that much to lose in the first place!! I've lost 148lbs and just yesterday someone asked me how much I had lost and I said almost 100lbs. Explain that to me? lol I'm thrilled with the loss and will never go back....cannot believe that I am where I am and wouldn't change a thing (except maybe doubting myself or waiting so long to have the sleeve). Yet, I still find myself in a place where I value how others see me and this journey. I feel like if you need to tell, then tell. If you need to keep it quiet, then keep it quiet. This is YOUR journey and you need to approach it in the way that best suits you. -
Super Tired, No Appetite, No Energy, Just Plain Blah... 3 Weeks Out.
his2my2our4 replied to Cindy H's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will absolutely get better!! I found myself super pooped soon after my sleeve too and found that this was when keeping on top of my Vitamins (especially the b-complex) and my Protein was important! The days that I didn't do so well with either of these I could feel a difference....wondering if this might be the case for you too Careful about the one or two bites of brownies....a lot of times they foods that are bad for us are the easiest to get down (and could easily go from one or two bites to three or four!). Stay with it and you will do great!! Take care! -
I keep pinching myself because I can hardly believe it myself!! It's been ages since I've seen the 100s on the scale and today...IT WAS THERE!!! I am 9 months out and wish I knew last year at this time how rewarding this journey would be! I seriously thought that I would be the one person that VSG would fail on. And now? More energy than I know what to do with!! Thanks for letting me share!!

I love to have a whole wheat waffle with a tablespoon of peanut butter on it! YUM! I know you said no yogurt but what about plain greek yogurt with granola in it? Barely Naked is a really good granola and isn't loaded with junk. Oatmeal is also good especially when you use skim or almond milk. I've also been busted eating left overs for dinner...who says breakfast has to be breakfast foods? :-)

Need Some Help/advice
his2my2our4 replied to Happy2Bme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stick to it and you will lose! I think the one thing I wasn't prepared for was the days where the scaled didn't budge. I'd think how could I possibly be the same weight because I'm not eating much at all! I am now 8months out and I've sort of seen a pattern. I will have days and/or weeks where the scale will move like crazy...then other days and/or weeks it'll stand still BUT I will see a loss in inches. I sort of think of it as my body taking a minute to reshape itself. Just stick with the plan and concentrate on the positives....22lbs is no joke my friend!! :-) -

Will This Ever Pass
his2my2our4 replied to sleevertobe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are going to feel better than normal and this will be a distant memory!! I remember reading that every day it would get better and sure enough, it did!! This and the pre-op diet are the hardest part of the whole thing. Just focus on the goal and how amazing you're going to feel when you achieve it! Also remember you have a ton of friends cheering you on here!! Hang in there and feel better soon! :-) -
So sorry you're going through this~prayers sent your way!!
