    Nsv On The Plane Today......

    LOVE this!! Congratulations!!!
  3. I am almost at my one year surgi-versary and needless to say, my life has changed beyond what I ever imagined. Last week I was asked to be the "Living Proof" speaker at tonight's information seminar. Of course I said yes....I would sing the sleeves praises from the roof tops!! Anyway, I was put in a office while he began the seminar and before he introduced me he put up my before picture. Almost like a grand reveal, I was brought in. There were gasps in the room!! I heard an "amazing" comment, a "what an inspiration" comment and a "you are beautiful" comment! It was so nice to share my story knowing that it wasn't that long ago I was right in that seat in the very same bundle of nerves. It hasn't always been easy and there have been bumps in the road but at the end of the day, I am happier and healthier than I've ever been.....that's sayin' something I think

How Long Until You Ate Salad, Steak, Bread?

I am 9 months out and still cannot do steak. I take that back, I can do steak, it just sits like a load of bricks in my stomach! Not a fun feeling. Bread is sort of the same but I've found that a bite or two is ok (especially if it's toasted). Those are really the only 2 foods that I choose to stay away from. salad on the other hand is a staple in my diet and has been since about 8-10wks out. I think you'll find that everyone tolerates foods differently and it'll be a trial and error thing to see what works for you! :-)

    Nsv ~ Jeans Shopping

I was sleeved 10/18/11 and 150.6lbs down...almost embarrassing to post the weight part, but since I literally worked my a$& off...I'm gonna scream it!

    Nsv ~ Jeans Shopping

It's hard to say what size because I had found that elastic or draw string pants felt better....but I think I was a 26...quite possibly a 28. Thanks you guys! :-)

    C-Section Vs Sleeve Pain

I had a section about a year prior to having my sleeve. The only real comparison I can make between the 2 is that stretching/pulling feeling you have when you first stand up. That, to me, was exactly the same. Otherwise, the sleeve incisions are short and small and I think I would describe the pain as more of a sore or tender type of feeling...not really the same as the pain after the c-section. Hopefully the sleeve will be a breeze for you just like your last 2 c-sections!!!

    How Painful Was The Surgery?

I have heard so many variations of post op stories. I think every one is so different, it's hard to predict. I also had zero gas pains and very little post op pain. I was sore, don't get me wrong, but not pain. It was uncomfortable to laugh, sneeze or cough and the idea to keep a pillow handy is a really good one (also comes in handy on the ride home for the bumps in the road). My biggest complaint was trying to get comfortable to sleep. I couldn't sleep on my side or my stomach for a few days...maybe even a week. Good luck to you!

Has Anybody Tried Body By Vi?

I'm with O.T.R and Chad on this one...while they may taste good, there are much healthier options out there!!!
  20. No, No, NOOOO! Do NOT back out! Take a deep breath, innnn and outtttt! You've come soo far and you're right here at it, don't give up now! Think of how amazing you're going to look and feel a year from right this second!! It's ok (and totally normal) to be a bundle of nerves, trust me, I nearly ran out of the hospital prior to being wheeled back..with the IV in my arm! I was so scared but I was determined to take control back. Think of all of the things you will gain by doing this, your health, your body, chic clothes, confidence...make a list! When the butterflies start swarming, break out your list and think about those things! You're going to do great..follow dr's orders, sip, walk, rest and repeat!! You've totally got this!!! :-D

    What To Pack For Hospital

You wont need much! :-) I packed my makeup bag thinking it might feel nice to put a little on to feel human...HA! Never even went near the thing! I agree on the pillow and chapstick! I am trying to remember the name of the mouth spray I used....bioteen maybe? It was a spray and it helped with the dry mouth. A brush and a tie for your hair if it's long. I packed but never used, a book, ipod, makeup, socks (i just used theirs).....pack light! :-)

    6 Months Of Waiting :(

That schedule would have worked for my insurance but it might be a good idea to give yours a quick call...just to make sure! This will probably feel like the longest 6 months ever! Use your time wisely! Start getting used to some of the things you soon become your new lifestyle (no drinking with meals, no soda, a good workout routine) so that when it's time, you're ready to roll! Good luck to you and I'm so excited for you!

Guidance Please 5 Days Post Op

I was going to mention the acid too...it's strange but it can seem exactly like hunger pains! Also, once you get on more solid foods you will probably feel the restriction and not so much hunger. Keep pluggin along...this is the hardest part!
  24. his2my2our4

    Soooo Hungry

Yikes! What a test of your strength!! You've come this far...your head is in the right place (even if theirs isnt!) and you're almost there!! I agree with RoseNP, think of yourself a year from now. You're gonna knock their snackin' socks off!!!

    How To Stop Worrying...

I would be worried if you WEREN'T nervous! I remember thinking that I had lost my mind chosing to have an elective surgery! I have 3 children and they youngest was only 2 at the time I was sleeved. I kept thinking that it something happened to me...what would they do? But, on flipping that around, if I DIDN'T do this what sort of life could I offer them? It sounds like we've all had similar fears and yours seem to fit right in. Just trust in your decision and know that you are doing this for your healthy, to add years to your life and what an amazing gift you will be giving your family....YOU! :-) Take care and best wishes!
