If they do under flouro I don't know why they don't do more. They can see how fluid is moving through. I have had two 4cc each (although he says it doesn't really equal 8.. Not sure what that means) I still don't feel restriction. Some are more aggressive then others. I'm hoping next fill will feel. I know all are different. It's frusturating to me to think I have that much and nothing. It scares me to think if I had one of those conservative dr I would be well over a year and nothing. Good luck.

Third Adjustment...not Feeling Restriction Yet....help!!!!
c945105 replied to ktsped's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, I was banded 4/20 and feel your pain. I'm down 25 and my surgeon has been aggressive with fills at 4cc and another 4cc and still don't really feel restriction and no intolerances. He says it's not really 8cc but not sure what that means. It seems like when I do eat though I stay full longer but still feel like I can eat way too much and have to try to limit myself on own. Anyhow I pray next fill in 3 weeks will do more for me. I'm glad he's aggressive as 8cc on allot of people could take a year. So you are not alone. -
Hi, I just got my second fill and was 4cc under flora. The first was 4cc and absolutely no restriction. The Dr. said it was pretty aggressive but I trust he knows what he's doing since watching under flora. I was nervous as feeling really hungry on liquids and ate a little tonight (fill was yesterday). I think it will provide some restriction.. at least hoping. Anyone else have pretty aggressive Dr. like that? I'm scared if I don't feel as there is only 11cc total. I know some have to get up there to feel. The thought of what if I get to 11cc and don't feel..ugg. Although I don't really read that on here that people max out. I did say to the Dr. that means I have 8cc right and he said well the initial really doesn't count or something to the effect it's not really that much. Not exactly sure what he meant. Cyndi

That's good to know. I didn't know there were 14 cc bands. I had only heard of 10 and 11 ones and the older ones were really small like 4 (not sure how all that worked but sounds like it did.. must be different technology with the band type).

Yea it would drive me nuts if it was 1 cc at a time and it took so far up there to go. Seems like since they can see in the flora how at least liquid is going down it's fairly safe to go aggressive. He put some in me then tested then went and refilled it and seemed happier the second time that it was slowing down on the xray.

You mean spotting like your menstruating? I have opposite problem. I had surgery 4/20 and have not had a period. I think the surgery really did mess with the hormones.

Hi 4/20's and all. I've lost 21 but very slow. Feel no restriction at all. I think even less after first fill if that's even possible ! Next one should be next week so looking forward to it. I'm trying to stay on diet but definetly slip but trying to not just let the slips go into slides. Also got hurt working out 3 weeks ago but now at about 90% so looking forward to getting it going again. Funny before surgery guess skipped the bandster hell posts but totally get it now. I still believe this will help me it's just going to take time. Hope all are doing well. Cyndi

I Back And I So Mad With This Surgery
c945105 replied to marielalora's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If it makes you feel better my surgery was 4/20 and I'm at 21lb. I'm working hard but have no restriction. I'm not defeated as I know it will get there. I look forward to my next fill in a week and hope it helps a little. Sounds like average on this board is 3-4 fills to feel restriction. It's a journey not a race I like to think of it. -
Anyone? Am I The Only One In April?
c945105 replied to scorpiolady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know I must have skipped over bandster hell ones. I was for a month or more.. Now very slow scale movement but at least moving. Also broke first goal to get under 200 which hadn't been there for a year or more. -

How Did Your First Fill Go Im Due 26.6.12
c945105 replied to Aimee Orrock's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 4cc put in first fill. Don't feel restriction. Didn't hurt more then a shot. Not the most fun but can get through it. I can ask for numbing stuff but feel a little like baby as sounds like most don't get it. Hoping 2nd will give some restriction. -
Hiatal Hernia Repair When Banded?
c945105 replied to miswoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was self pay too and surgeon just included it if he found one which he did rather large and I had no symptoms. I think it made the surgery 15-20 minutes longer but nothing major. I think my recovery was the same as if just had band. No chest issues just incision pain/port. By day 3 doing pretty well and off pain meds day 4 or 5. -
How Many Fills Did It Take You To Get To The "sweet Spot?"
c945105 replied to mrspopeye's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm pretty happy today as had first fill last wed and today ate at panera and had soup and 1/2 sandwich which normally could devour pretty easily and felt plenty satisfied after half the sandwich. I feel I don't have much restriction but thinking that must be some. I was feeling like could eat same amount if I tried. -
I can't wait to give to good will my old (because I refuse to buy in these big sizes) cloths and break out my smaller ones. The small ones many will have to go to as outdated but it sure will be fun shopping. But I really just want to clear my closet of these way to huge clothing!

Anyone From April Had Banded Filled?
c945105 replied to newme0617's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had surgery 4/20 and fill (4cc in 11cc band) 5/30... I am kind of bummed as not feeling anything. Next will be 7/11. They said if I'm losing 1lb a week they prob won't but I'll be pushing them as if I'm just dieting on my own as it is now I want a fill to get the tool to help ! -
Get my first fill tomorrow after 4/20 surgery (yay). I know I've been reading you go on liquids after and kind of start over in phases but I don't recall if you have to do anything different before during day. Should you fast x hours before or eat liquid before? Thanks
-
Thanks much. They hadn't told me anything but seemed like not eating for a while before would be right way to go. It's not until 4:15 so I just won't eat after lunch. Thanks

Not Losing Any Weight On Lapband Starting To Feel Discouraged
c945105 replied to Yolanda Swing-banks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I see similar posts all the time which gives me hope. I am similar to you. Banded 4/20 and lost 16 in preop and first week. After that as I feel great it's been either holding or down only .4 a week which is not motivational . I like you have been exercising everyday and tracking food. Getting my protein in. My counting doesn't show me getting too many cal in but maybe I am somehow. I just hired a personal trainer too once a week and follow his exercise rec of interval training. Hoping will push be off center. I don't have fill until wed. Which hope may help as I can pretty much eat same as normal and really have to restrict myself. Good luck and we can make it work. -
Well it makes me not feel so bad to see others sturggling with the scale. It just is driving me nuts as I'm eating so cleanly and even really picking up the exercise. I'm not sure how the body holds on but it's got to give up sometime!
-
I kind of wish for the uncomfortable as I seem to eat whatever and it's ok. Just dry chicken has caused a little uncomfortable. I even can not chew to well but trying to remember but catching myself . I get the hiccups to sometimes. It's like one not constant when you get normal hiccups at least for me. I'm trying to stick to the high Protein and feel much better when on high protein diet. Glad you are doing well.
-
I felt better as like you said some lose allot but seems like more (and I'm one) stop losing quickly even though taking in so low calories. I sure hope scale moves eventually ! I think like folks said combination of shock to body and healing first and a bit of being in starvation mode so your body tries to hold on. Seems like every says don't worry about the first month so I'm trying not to.
-
Wouldn't worry so much about eggs as you probably won't have for a week post op (if you Dr. is like most) as you will be on liquid diet first week. I overstocked broth! I still have about 8 boxes of it. Jello, shakes, popcycles..week two at least puree'd foods which was fun to have tuna, Soups, egg salad thin, etc.

Oh yes forgot to add I read the posts here but still frusturated as it doesn't work on ipad, or iphones these groups only the other forums outside the groups. I posted that on the admin support site but no response. I mainly use my phone to check in. oh well.

Hi, Surgery was 4/20 and I'm with you in bandster hell. I've lost 16 (9 two weeks pre op, 7 first week, and .6 third ). I will only weigh myself on Friday's (I will be shocked if that scale is ever a friend) and hoping the scale gives me a little love tomorrow.. Feeling great other wise and can eat now which is awesome and not too many intolerable foods since band is open. First fill isn't until 5/30. I am hungry which is tough but trying to eat a protein snack between meals to ward off the beast. 20 more days and hoping to get some help from the band as you know at this point it's just another diet. Keeping a positive attitude as this site has helped so much and hearing the success from people even after they have struggled. Hope everyone is doing well!
