About Me

  • Gender
    Female
My insurance company, Humana stated that no matter how much I tried to appeal their denial that they did not cover any bariatric surgery.  I financed the surgery through Care Credit for $16,000.
I, as most have tried every weight loss plan imaginable such as weight watchers, nutrasystem, low carb, etc... for as long as I can remember.
I had surgery March 31, 2011. I weighed 232 prior to surgery. I had a lot of pain for the first few weeks post op. I think the main reason is because I have a large piece of the tubing protruding and very visible right below my rib cage. My surgeon blows it off as I am just complaining about nothing. I think that anyone who spends $16,000 for an elective surgery wouldn't expect to have what looks like a deformity that they are more or less told to just deal with it.
I am almost 3 months out and have minimal to no success. I am making good food choices and recently began doing cardio 3 times / week. I have had 4 fills to date and I still get very hungry between meals. The only real difference I can tell is I can tell if I didn't chew my  food well enough. I am getting very frustrated at this point. My most recent fill was 2 days ago. My surgeon told me that maybe I should've had gastric bypass surgery instead. I didn't feel very reassured by any means.
