What do you eat for breakfast? I need ideas!
pamla68 replied to blahblahblah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm doing grits and oatmeal. I completely forgot about cream of wheat! Love the egg whites, however, I prefer to make omelets on the weekends and add vegetables such as peppers onions and mushrooms. -
Congratulations and welcome to bandland!

I know this sounds awkward, however, in order to loose you have to be able to feed the muscles what they need to grow strong. I'm not doing a very good job of that right now. I can't get over 1000 a day, and to top it, I have some sort of upest stomach going on right now. I've been sick since last Thursday. Then my period came on Friday! This past week has been bad. I ran 5 miles yesterday and will try to repeat today after my daughters meeting. Stay blessed all!

Hello all June 07 bandsters! I haven't gotten a fill. I have a hard enough time trying to eat. I would like one, but I just can't. No PBs, however, I know when I need to stop. I'll glad to see everyone is doing so well thus far. Here are a few before and during pics of me.

Anyone able to eat cheese
pamla68 replied to Jobstud's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all! I've been afraid of cheese too! I think it is because of it's thickness. I will try some extra sharp over the weekend. -
Mineral Supplements, what do you take?
pamla68 replied to badonkadonkbutt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I think this depends on how much physical activity you are doing. If you are doing intense training, cardio and strength, you may need something stronger. May I suggest if you are, GNC's Women's Ultra Mega Active Multi vitamin. Great product. It has electrolyte replacement, bone health and antioxident support. -
Does PB mean "progressive burping?" Is it bad to burp?:cry

Poll: Are you glad you were banded?
pamla68 replied to justwant2lose's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Actually day of surgery I was 245. I've lost 28 pounds since surgery. I lost 24 pre-op. I haven't had a fill as of yet, I wouldn't be able to eat. I will schedule one when my band loosens up. Keep in mind, results vary.:clap2: -
Poll: Are you glad you were banded?

I'm one month out from lap band surgery and thankful I had it. I've lost 50 pounds and have 45 more to go to reach my goal weight. It is not a miracle pill, it is a lifestyle change. I have never had a problem loosing weight, only problem, keeping it off. I had female problems, high blood pressure, heel spurs and back pain. With just the first 50 pounds gone, I have none of the above problems. It is not an easy way out. It has saved my life. So I am a proud lap band owner, and look forward to my new life with fitness, exercise, and incorporation of good eating. -
I've heard mixed things on this topic. As for my doctor, Iwas told none for a year. I've beencoping pretty good. I also think it has been a plus with my post op weight lost. Proceed with caution.

Hello Everyone, I'm not a health professional so I want to make it clear I'm only making a suggestion that helped my hunger pains during the liquid diet which I had for two weeks pre-op. I was referred a liver detox which helped to shrink the liver. Also, keep in mind the stomach is a muscle. it will shrink as the days nearer to surgery. Also the liver detox helped with my pre surgery weight loss and also after surgery gas pains were at a mininmum.

I'm one month post op and I don't think I could handle a steak! Take a bite for me!

I'm one month post op and my scars look pretty good as well. i think it has to do with the protien intake as well so make sure you get enough grams daily.

I have't lost friends, however, a few of their attitudes towards me have changed. It is as if they are intimidated by me. I'm not at goal so I'll see if it gets any worse.

How Many Calories Do You Consume On An AVERAGE Day?
pamla68 replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I do good to get between 800-1000 a day. I'm certain this will change as my band gets older. Only a month out. -
Hey all, I was banded June 25th, and I can't get an appetite. I was told to eat at least 74 grams of protein a day and to drink 100 ozs. of water a day. And my book specifically says don't eat if you are not hungry. I get to the point of about to pass out because I'm not hungry but my body needs fuel. This just seems like such hard work for something the size of a 1/2 dollar? I do drink new whey liquid protein in water. It comes in a 25g or 42g, I drink on the 42 gram througout the day. Comes in fruit punch, grape and orange. I still drink the protein shakes as well.

Drinking while eating poll
pamla68 replied to K@t's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was never a big drinker with meals. The only hard part is remembering to wait at least 1 hour after eating to drink.
