sugarmamma7 replied to Papa Jack's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yes I got all choked up when I saw my doc and thanked him and gave him the biggest hug! Who wouldn't get all choked up talking about something that changes our lives for the good? Congrats on all your weight loss! -
She is looking down on you and she is so proud of you keep up the good work!

So I am almost a month out and I decided to quit taking my gout medicine because I wasn't have any pain when I was eating red meat protein. I haven't been taking any medicine for about a couple of weeks and I am not in pain anymore! Gout is a horrible condition in which anytime I ate ground beef, pork, or ham I would flare up and it would feel like poision cursing through my viens. My arms and feet would swell up and become inflamed and red. I know it is not good to eat red meat all the time, but hambuger meat is nice everyonce in a while. To not be in pain and to not have to take medicine is the best feeling in the world!

that sounds like a good plan to me good luck sweetie!

thanks sweetie I do need to make an apt just to double check , but it is easy to tell if your uric acid is high you have pain it sucks but I will do the right thing good luck to you sweets I hope you can get of your meds too yeah
-
I did have a flare up after surgery. The doc said it was probably because of being dehydrated due to not being able to drink anything before the surgery and not being able to drink liquids too fast. also it is because the uric acid is also released in the fat cells when you lose weight. I talked to a gentlemen who also had ghout and he said he had one flare up after surgery and then it was gone forever! To me it is worth it. To be able to not be in pain again is great. Have you tried allupurinol it is a generic prescription drug it might be cheaper for you. I would have to say this is the best decision I have made. Good luck to you sweetie!

A little disappointed with myself...
sugarmamma7 replied to Amanda131's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don't think its cheating at all. We are forced with the same choices we make everyday on food. It is a constant struggle. Yes we are forced to eat smaller portions, but we still have to do the work to live an more healthy lifestyle. Would going a getting a personal trainer or a dietician be cheating? I think not we are just using the right tools so that we can be sucessfull! Don't let those women bother you, they are just jealous! Sending hugs your way... -
So I found a substitution for icecream, rainbown sherbert it is a refreshing treat in the summer and a good heathly option that still gives you the mouthfeel of icecream. It is going to help keep me on track! It really tastes good!

I have been eating sunflower seeds I think they are high in protein but also high in salt. I figure they can't be much worse than the can chicken or tuna. What do you guys think?

I know waiting is so hard its the toughest part of the whole process! I just threw myself into something I love doing cake decoratoring making gumpaste flowers. I tried to keep myself busy to distract myself from focussing on the surgery. Best of luck to you sweetie sending hugs your way. -

possible surgery site infection
sugarmamma7 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi guys I thought I was healing nicely but before i went to school the insicision site where they removed my stomach the biggest one had alot of drainage and now it looks kind of yellow and green. I have had trouble with healing when I go to culinary school with the sites rubbing against my pants and hitting the sink when I am doing dishes leaning against the sink. It is irrated but not bright red or hot to the touch. It just looks bad. Also I put baindaids on them and this seems to make it worse kind of tearing the scab off. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks nina
