I had my first lap-band at age 24, resulting in a weight loss of 157 lbs (from 287 to 130). It was amazing and my transformation took a little over a year. However, I was getting sick often and my health became bad. I wasn't getting enough nutrients. In late 2008 I began putting on unexpected weight, which was the result of a slipped band. Dr. Curry replaced my band in March of 2009 and this time around has been MUCH different. I have barely lost anything. I have been fluxuating between 185 and 200lbs for almost two years.
As of today, I am miserable. I can barely eat solid food without throwing up. I chew and chew...I even puree foods in a blender, but for some reason I cannot tolerate MANY foods. My band has not slipped again, and it has not been adjusted in over a year, but the surgery that once worked so well for me is now making me miserable!
