Any July 2011 Bandsters?
Coco's Mum replied to LisaB68's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome Breezybbyy .... this July group is so nice and helpful. Just knowing that you're not alone is great ! MassMom - oh my goodness - I cannot imagine have the endoscopy done without being under. Simply cannot imagine. -
A year is a long time but I would have loved it it my insurance company had something like a mandated health coach. Aug will be here before you know it !

Sooo ready for the NEW ME!!!
Coco's Mum replied to ms.lady's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Love the good news ! -
Alygirl got me thinking - she is putting together a playlist for her new life so maybe I should to ! Anyone care to share what gets them moving (and probably more important - keeps them moving !)
-
I have a loooooooong list to help me during bad/tough days. I just saw a roller rink reopened up and thought - I wonder if skates would even fit around my ankles. So, that's going on my list - being able to wear roller skates that are killer-tight !
-
This is so interesting. I hope more post-banders weigh in on this. NJGirl - so you don't do the eat-snack-eat-snack-eat-snack and stick to 3 or 4 'meals' only? Thanks.
-
Rachel and Cindy - this is what I want !! To either have a wrap with a little chz and turkey (and be satisfied) or to only eat 4 or 5 bites and be satisfied .... to be in control

I hadn't thought of this ... but probably would have close to surgery so thanks for posting this ! -
What are you looking forward to?
Coco's Mum replied to jenjaw's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I put together an entire list to help me get thru the hard days .... CheckYes - thanks for the input from the other side !! -
After Orientation Question
Coco's Mum replied to AMayo1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have this problem but all of these little cheezy rules that we are all posting is so silly. We are a nation of obese people. We are asking for help - help us ! If we were smokers - insurance companies are more than to help ! (stepping off my soapbox). -
Great news ! I have a 1996 Mustang Convertible (green w/ tan top) - 5.0 ... love it !

July 2011 Bandsters (and anyone else)
Coco's Mum posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I see that some of the July 2011 Loosers (er, I mean bandsters) are seeking counseling and I am strongly considering this. I'm a big believer in therapy anyway (who couldn't use some) so I just need to get on the phone with my insurance and then find the $$. Did you seek out someone who worked with food issues? overeating issues? how often are you going? -
Any July 2011 Bandsters?
Coco's Mum replied to LisaB68's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow and weight to go (pun intended) on those big losses during pre-op liquid. I'm hoping to loose 5 lbs during my two week period. My metabolism is so screwed up from a life time of .... well, you know the story. -
How long did you take off from work after your surgery??
Coco's Mum replied to 3musketeers's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow ... I am impressed .... I get so stiff if I don't move around every hour that I can even 'kick' singular must less dream about kickboxing - way to go ! -

How do I get rid of it? -
My fingers crossed... legs too chubby to cross.. :)
Coco's Mum replied to jmar's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Let us know how it goes. And 'crossing my legs' is on my list of "I can't wait for" that I made to help me during the tough times .... -
Hi Polly - I'm right behind you (7/21) so we'll be liquids and mushies together .... welcome !

They told me to bring my CPAP machine to Surgery
Coco's Mum replied to THEgeorgiaPEACH's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good to know ! Someone along the line (of docs, etc) said to bring it for recovery - said in passing - but now I will definately bring it. Thanks for the info ! -

Coco's Mum replied to LisaB68's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Shauna - thanks for the list. It will be especially helpful for me once I start the pre-op diet because that's what is making me most nervous (or maybe because it comes before the surgery). So, yes, I'm nervous but want to get moving onto my new life. ((( July Bandsters ))) -
FINALLY GOT MY SURGERY DATE!! JULY 29!!!
Coco's Mum replied to ButterflyM's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations !! Another later-in-July bandster (mine is 7/21) - can't wait ! -

How long did you have to wait...
Coco's Mum replied to sassyfrass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Consult was Feb 11 and I'll be banded on 7/21. Even though I asked for 'first available' for every necessary appointment - it took this long. Good luck with your insurance - mine has changed (for the worse) every year for the past three years. If I had this done three years ago - it would have been paid at 100%. Now, I have a $1000 deductible for inpatient and WLS covered at 50% (in addition to the other deductible and copays I've had this year). -
Any July 2011 Bandsters?
Coco's Mum replied to LisaB68's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome all July Bandsters (including Nachmura) ! Re: the psych eval and nutritionist appt in person or on the phone. I agree with whoever said - the psych eval could be done over the phone (at least mine could have been) and the Nut in person because of the handouts. I, personally, couldn't rush into have the LB because I have a need to think (and think some more) about everything I do. Amy - you poor thing !! I heard that surgeon's want people to bring the CPAP so that as they are in recovery - they can have an easier time breathing - not that you will necessarily be an inpatient. Very frustrating ! -
How long did you take off from work after your surgery??
Coco's Mum replied to 3musketeers's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sure yet. I have over and hour commute each way to work and have (like most folks) a very stressful job. I want to make sure I give myself every opportunity to succeed so I don't think I'm going to be in that big of a hurry to get back to one of the places that 'feeds' my urge to eat. I want to make sure I give myself no excuses to not use this as a new start for my new life (which includes exercising !!) -
Welcome ! Are you on a pre-op diet?
