Sounds like our July Bandsters thus far are doing great !! My Mom is a nurse and a firm believer: You MUST stay ahead of the pain ... our bogies cannot heal unless they are in rested stated so please - take your pain meds as directed Today was my first day of liquids only. So far, so good (and I'm typing not eating). Went to Thai for lunch and had two cups (largish) of broth ... delish. HRM800 for bfast (protein shake) and a muscle milk mid-pm. I'll probably go to the condo pool and then right to bed ~

I hope more people add to this thread (thanks for starting it) ... interesting topic !

My health is my business and if I follow the band rules, I will be eating more carefully, portion control, better diet, etc. That is how I will be loosing weight (I have my fingers and toes crossed !). Band or no band - it's up to me.

What a shame ! You spend time, money (maybe your insurance) and you're not getting the service you deserve. I am not impressed with my surgeon's office either but I'm pretty firm about them not rushing thru things, answering my questions, etc. They blow thru instructions like they are citing the A-B-C's ... stop, slow down, this is the first tie I am hearing this and it's info I need !

Good morning ! In addition to all of the Band rules (protein first, no Water with meals, etc) I want to start a blog. Age 47 and not only is the first forum I've ever posted on - I've never had a blog. Times are a changin ! One of the 'rules' I've given myself is to post daily here (making myself contribute even if just to say thank you to someone). Another 'rule' I want to give myself is a blog. Figure it would be cheaper than therapy Any tips on how to get started? Thanks !

Woke up this morning and immediately thought of the July 5 bandsters .... here's hoping that everything goes well for you ! Wow Alygurl - a check in already - yougogirl !! Hope the gas subsides quickly. Math was never my strong suit - I had in my mind that today was the first day of my pre-op diet. Again, woke up and it hit me - I'm having surgery on a Thr - my pre-op diet is two weeks - today is Tuesday so NO - pre-op starts on Thr ... I guess I cannot count to 14. Any other pre-ops start on Thr?

Great topic so thank you to the OP. I love how you've all spoken about the ability to control yourself which is what I want out of the band. Signed, the girl who can eat an entire box of Cheese-its.

Thanks, everyone ! Shirley - I will find yours I ended up figuring out how to blog (well, that's an overstatement) on blogger and my blog is in my signature. My new problem is when someone sends me a message - it "the proverbial it" says that I cannot message back. Need to fiqure that out or people will think that I'm flat out rude ... thanks for the comments !

Thanks for blogging ! I found you and now I can read all about your success !! To the OP - personally, while I want to know about the medical issues - I skip over the posts where people are not following rules, etc. I do not want to know how to cheat the band.

Great news, Tracie ! On vacation will be very tough (I'm not even banded and I'm concerned about this). Thanks for sharing your good news !

Good for you ! It's hard but we all (the proverbial we all) take more care of our jobs, parents, etc etc but not ourselves. I'm glad you're putting yourself ahead of your job ... their loss (and yours too !)

Congratulations, Wendy ! I'm excited about our 'new beginning' too ... glad to hear that you're doing well and not hungry (that's what I need !). Keep us updated on your progress !

You echo many of my same thoughts (emotional tie to food, afraid of failure, etc). I am hopeful that I can turn my fear into determination (oh, but I am scared). We can do this together !

Oh, I am sorry to hear. It's such a big deal to get the darn thing in but you will be out of pain (so that will be good). I'm curious too. Any idea why the pain? You don't hear too much about this here on LBT (or at least I haven't read about it).
