    Really mad....and worried

That's great news!! My insurance approved me in less than 24 hours too and we have the same surgery date. Are you on the pre-op diet now?
  2. I must be insane. I don't really know what else to think. I hope someone can explain this to me. I have about 1 week left on my pre-op liquid diet and I can't stop cooking! Yesterday I made my family french toast for Breakfast, BLT's for lunch, Lasagna/Cesar salad/Garlic bread for dinner and a GIANT batch of homemade chocolate chip Cookies. I also tossed some chili in the crock-pot before bed. I am making oatmeal raisin cookies now and have the entire day planned out food wise. I am not making simple foods that I would normally make. I'm doing "from scratch" recipes that are time consuming. I am NOT eating any of it. In full disclosure, I took a big fat bite of the BLT (which I had been craving since day 1 of pre-op) but promptly got sick. It was so salty to me! I threw it all away. I almost got ill watching my husband scarf down dinner last night. The amount was obscene to me, but in reality it was our "normal" serving size. He is not fat at all...he is about 175 and 5'10". I also can't stop cleaning. I almost feel like I'm nesting I'm not talking your normal cleaning. I'm talking my military parents would be proud cleaning! WTH? I was really tired all last week but yesterday I woke up with so much energy and I KEPT it! Is this normal? Oh, on our walk last night my husband got tired and wanted to come home and I wanted to keep on walking. That has never happened before!

  5. Woot Woot!! Keep us posted on your recovery! I will be sleeved exactly one week after you
  6. I take ibuprofen as well and my Dr. did not say anything about not being able to take it with the sleeve.

On my way to a stingray Liver

The first few days are the hardest, but you CAN do it!!! I'm on day 5. My surgery is the 19th. I almost broke down and ate a few times, but I didn't. Sobe lifewater saved me! I chugged the whole bottle then took a nap. Please be careful with the driving!
  8. AutumnLily is right. Do the pre-op liquid diet.

Do They Think I'm an Idiot?

I wish I had the type of Mom that I could tell, but she would tell the world. So just my immediate family knows. Not only do I not want to hear all the Negative Nancy's out there, I don't want to be defined as "the girl who had WLS".
  13. Pre-op diet is getting easier! I see the light at the end of the tunnel :)

    What made you do it?

As many of you, I too have yo-yo dieted and failed. BUT, what really made me decide was a series of "aha" moments. My kids are teenagers now and I have made them miss out on sooo many things because I was too fat/embarrassed to take them when they were younger. The beach...only if it's private. Skiing....avalanche anyone?? Vacations....always planned around MY limitations. It is VERY embarrassing to start to breath heavy when going up a slight incline!! My kids deserve better. My husband deserves better. I deserve better. I want to play with my future grandkids, not be dead or in a jazzy scooter. @Shea- I can relate to the interview. As I got fatter, I noticed my job recognition/opportunities faded. People seem to think fat equals incompetent and lazy. Oh, one last one...I am in NO pictures. It's like I don't exist. Holidays, birthdays etc. I took all the pictures so I couldn't be photographed.
  15. Trying to stay busy so I won't eat. Day 2 of milk diet is hard but I can do this!!

    Pre-op diet

I called my nutritionist and she said if I don't regain my energy by tomorrow I can add a scoop of protein to my drink. The headache might be from caffeine withdrawals. I stopped all caffeine years ago and the headaches were horrid.
  18. My Dr. uses a milk diet. Since I am lactose intolerant I am drinking 2-3 glasses of light soy milk 3 x a day and as much water/propel as I want. I also take all my regular Vitamins but add an extra multi. Nutritionist said if I get too lethargic I can add a scoop of my Protein in a day or two. I am using Syntax nectar.
  19. My boys said they hope I don't "zombie out" and randomly start eating. They did offer to find me a Hannibal Lecter mask, if needed. Teenagers!

    Pre-op diet

Today is my second day too and I am EXHAUSTED! I thought it was due to the EGD I had yesterday and the "happy juice" they gave me in the hospital. I've already taken a nap and want to go back to bed and it's only 1pm! I hope this gets better.
  22. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do the full 2 week diet because I am low BMI, but no luck. I started it yesterday It's going to be a looooong time until the 19th!
  23. I'm just under 5'2". I started my milk diet today. I'm already starving. I bought tons of microwaveable dinners from Costco so my boys can cook for themselves. This is going to be a very long 2 weeks.
  24. SittingPretty

    Approved!

Congrats!!! You are on your way
  25. Sounds like this should be the 5'2" thread, lol! If I stand really really really straight I might make that height.
