Should I go to the hospital?

Go to the ER ASAP! I was just over 2 weeks out and felt like poop. No energy, just felt wrong, stomach pain, nausea and couldn't drink protein at all. Dr admitted me and it took 2 IV bags before I was able to give any urine...I was that dehydrated. It happened so fast. One day I was all smiles and sunshine, the next I was so tired and just not feeling right. I wound up getting my gallbladder out! Now I am sore from 2 surgeries in such a short time. I hope you are OK
  2. Feeling better today...just a little. Still hurts to bend :(

  3. just stayed overnight in hospital getting gallbladder removed

  4. I was sleeved 09/19 and am down 29.8 pounds.....but nobody can see a difference but me. So it got me wondering..how much weight do I have to lose before people notice? I'm almost 5'2" and I weighed in at 220.8 on 08/26. On my surgery date I was 211.2. Today I am 191. I'm happy about the loss, but having ANYONE notice would be nice.
  5. Last night I was able to finish the entire 10 3/4 oz size of creamy chicken soup.WTH! I can drink and drink and drink as well. I have not thrown up or anything. I am only 11 days out!! I can't tolerate my protein drinks either. They make me gag. Is this common?

    Way to go!!! AWESOME results!

Lost 29.8 lbs & nobody can tell :(

Thank you everyone! The support on this forum is AWESOME!! I have been around the same people everyday, so it probably is hard for them to notice the change. I guess in my mind I've been working on this for months and even though I know it is working, I just needed some outside support. My family is very supportive, but they are all males and we all know how they avoid the weight topic like the plague So pity party over! I'm on the right path and my Christmas card this year will ROCK!!
  8. It took about 20 minutes. Thanks Phillygirl - I was about to throw them out. Those containers are HUGE and I would love to have my cabinet space back, lol.
  9. Thanks Fern! I do measure my meals but seem to be able to drink Water like no tomorrow. Not that I'm complaining, it just seems everyone has a hard time getting enough water and I (thankfully) don't. I was a little worried.
  10. Thanks! I feel better knowing I'm not the only one. I spent a small fortune testing out Protein Shakes before surgery and now I can't even stand the smell. I start pureed foods on Monday, so I hope that makes a difference

    The Dreaded Slimes

Even though I'm just 11 days out, I have not thrown up either. I feel restriction/full at times and I have felt that heavy feeling. I am worried about the vomiting. My question is: Does it happen so suddenly that you can't make it to the bathroom or do you get a sign or two? I would hate to be out with the family and ruin dinner.

    Lactose Free Protein Drinks?

Try light Silk Soymilk with a scoop of Syntrax nectar protein. The milk comes in choc and vanilla and the nectar comes in a variety of flavors. I get mine from the vitamin shoppe. The nectar can be made with water as well. Good luck
  13. 1 week post-op. Thought I would feel better by now.

To tell or not to tell...

I'm sorry to hear your sisters were not as supportive as you needed. That being said....My hubby is the second youngest in a a family of 7. I will never forget the first time I met his siblings. One of them actually told me,"Oh, you don't ask him if he can be/do something, you just TELL him".
  15. I'm drinking a bit more than every 15 minutes, but should slow down. I am not doing any Vitamins yet. I had some yogurt last night and it seemed to help. That and Gas-x strips.

Pain where the stomach was pulled out

omg! I have the same dent! I just figured it was because my surgery was just a few days ago.
  17. I just had my surgery Monday and I vomited the foamy blood 3x. My stomach did not clench up or anything, it just came up. Before surgery, the anesthesiologist talked w me and I told him I vomit every time. He gave me a shot and a patch to wear behind my ear. I also received more shots from the nurse and a sub lingual pill....and a suppository, all for nausea. I used a morphine drip for pain. Tuesday I had to be taken to xray for the contrast thing and thought I would rather have my skin peeled off me. The ride took 2 elevators and through 3 buildings! Every bump was hell for me. Because I was so nauseous I couldn't use my cpap either. All's well here. I did not tear anything.
  18. I was sleeved Monday too and still feel pretty awful. Swollen and bloated but unable to pass gas. Can't get comfy either. I just take a deep breath remember this is only temporary. Though I did cry like a baby Monday from the pain.
  19. Got my sleeve early Monday and home today. First 2 days were hell! Now if I could only get comfy enough to sleep.

  20. If you asked me a few weeks ago if I was nervous I would have said YES. So why now, less than 48 hours until surgery, am I mellow? Of course I don't want to die or have any complications, but I am so relaxed it's creepy. My biggest concern seems to be if I should take a book or magazines. I'm staying 2 nights. Hubby took time off work and freezer is packed. I already bought my "food", got my meds ready and did laundry. Maybe I'm just ready? Knowing me I'll probably get super nervous the morning of,lol! Either way, I thought I'd be more emotional.

    Surgery Monday!

Good luck Vanessa and Suez! We will all be on our way to the losers bench tomorrow! 17lbs! That's awesome! I had to be taken off the liquid diet early so my weight loss stopped

    Monday's the day!

Thanks! I was really nervous a few weeks back, but the closer I get to surgery the more calm I get. Dang, only if I could apply that to other areas of my life, lol!

    I'm a 10

    Awesome news!
  24. Congrats on the weight loss! It sounds like you have everything under control. I'm still pre-op liquid stage and I already have head hunger and can't imagine it gets worse! My neighbors all bbq daily and the aroma just floats in. Very enticing. When did you start driving? I have to start a week out and am not sure I will be able to do it.
  25. I hope you can get this worked out. I just looked at my approval letter from Anthem CA and it only states that the approval is based on medical necessity and is not a guarantee that benefits will be paid if I am not enrolled and eligible for benefits of the date of service. Keep us updated.
