    Will I Lose My Hair?

I started losing a ton about 2 weeks ago. I take vitamins and biotin. I must say, thank goodness for hats, beanies and clip in hair!

    3 Month Check In...wow!

    Wonderful!! Congrats
  3. Today I had an itch on my back...and I could totally feel my shoulder blade! I had forgotten what it was like to feel those.

  4. Lately I've been feeling pain when eating or swallowing anything. I was sleeved 09/19, had my gallbladder removed 10/08 and then caught a nasty bug. I have been through the ringer! At first I thought it was something I ate because I was able to transition to normal foods just fine. It just seemed to change overnight. I started vomiting everything I ate or drank. I assumed I just got swollen from the retching so I went to liquids. Well, I can't really tolerate that either. This sucks. I feel ok in every other aspect. My incisions are fine and I've lost a decent amount of weight. My Dr. wants me to have the upper Endoscopy to look for ulcers or anything wrong. I am wondering if I should have a contrast as well. Any ideas on this?
  5. Great post! Sounds like you are doing amazing

New!!! BMI 39.6 are you kidding me?

My Dr. said if I came in under 40 he would add a note stating I have been dieting per his orders. I was just over 40 when I weighed. I drank sooooo much water and wore pants, padded bra, long sleeves, vest, thick socks AND ate a ton of oatmeal before I went in. I felt like I was going to explode.

After Gastric Sleeve Surgery Bucket List

Be in pictures....ALL of them! It's like I don't exist in my family photos Put up full body shots on Facebook. No more "angles". Wear short sleeved tops in summer, maybe even a tank top or two. Go to the beach and actually get in the water. ENJOY LIFE TO THE FULLEST without always worrying about what will fit or if I can physically do something without getting winded. I basically want to live without having to factor in my weight first.

Problems getting protein in my diet...

Definitely get that Cup warmer from Walmart! I love my Mr. Coffee brand one. It is soooo nice to have warm soup 20 minutes after I start! I also drink Lactaid. The pills work too and they are so tiny. I have found that I can tolerate EAS brand shakes from walmart too. They come in a 4pk and are under $5.

    NSV???

    Great NSV!
  10. Whew! Just tried on all my clothes and have a great big pile for Goodwill. Now in a 14!!!! Goodbye size 22/24 FOREVER!!!!

  11. Last night I went to the mall with my family. I wore a size 16 jean. Yes, they are now baggy. As I was walking my underwear started to slide down. At first I was mortified. They would have hit the floor if not for the jeans! It was so embarrassing! My family flanked me so I could (as discreetly as possible) hook a finger around the hip and hold them until I found a restroom. If I ever was in doubt that the sleeve is not working just because I've stalled this week, I'm not anymore. Guess it's time to go down a size :smile1:

I'm counting this as a NSV! Maybe..

Thankfully I'm short and I have all boys, so the coverage was adequate But I now know how those kids with the super baggy pants must feel. Always having to pull them up... What a pain. It's kind of like step step step lift, step step step lift
  13. Halloween is all put away and Thanksgiving is up! Now to start baking :)

  14. I'm in the same boat. I don't like this boat. I want that other boat that everyone else seems to be riding in. Seriously though, I have lost 40lbs and I can still wear my same clothes. I understand they are baggy, but not MC Hammer pants baggy. Here's what I think is happening to me: I must have been REALLY stretching my clothes to the limit and now I am on the "low end" of wearing them. I truly believe that one day I will not be able to wear my clothes and then will be shocked to learn I dropped a few sizes without realizing it. Also, I am not losing it where I use to lose it. I'm 40 now and my tummy is holding on for dear live but my legs are almost skeletal. When I was younger I lost on a more even scale.

How open were you about getting sleeved?

I only told my hubby and kids. Some people tell everyone, and I might do that in a few years. This is why I didn't tell... I do not like Negative Nancys and I have been surprised in the past about who is actually a "closet" Nancy. When it comes to obesity, in my opinion, some people can be very judgmental and overly vocal. Which is hilarious when you really think about it (pot meet kettle). I also did not want the "waiting for the re-gain" syndrome to begin. This mainly applies to my Mom. So a few months ago I started telling people I was on a diet and cut out most carbs and sugar. About a month later I said I cut out soda too. I also told everyone I would measure my food and eat only what a normal amount should be. This led to conversations about America's portion size and how out of control it is. A few friends gave me advice on eating healthy, but cautioned against a low carb diet. I told them I am not cutting them out completely, just lowering them. After my surgery I obviously ate even less. I told people that once I adjusted to eating smaller portions and actually eating Breakfast as well, I learned to stop when I was full not stuffed. Bottom line is this is MY journey. The sleeve is a tool, it does not define me. Again, this is JMO. I support everyone who decides to or not to tell others... I just might scream,"I had the sleeve" from the rooftops in the future :smile1:
  17. I've lost 40 lbs and now my husband wants to join a gym! He's not "overweight" but has put on about 8 lbs. I think he might be tripping out that I FINALLY weigh LESS than him :)

    Shapewear Benefits

OMG! I thought it was just me being too fat! I hear ya on the "hurts the ribcage". Plus, if I ever got the thing on I'd never be able to go to the bathroom ALL day! Whomever is in the stall next to me would think I'm wrestling alligators in the loo just trying to put the thing back on.
  20. Have Anthem email you the requirements then forward them to your Dr's office. They did that for me. My husband works for FedEx so we had low co-pays too

    Someone Noticed!

That's awesome!!! Feels good to know your hard work is paying off
  22. So i just ate a TON of frosted flakes without the milk. I did not even realize I was doing it. Wow. Talk about old bad habits being ingrained in ones brain!!

  23. I have Anthem of CA and had to use a center of excellence. Go to Anthems website and pull up the requirements just to be sure. Oh, they approved me in under 24 hours once everything was submitted.

    Seeing is Believing

You look AMAZING!!! You go girl
  25. OMG! I am the complete opposite! I have not been able to wear my wedding ring in sooooo long. I'm talking 5 maybe 8 YEARS!!! I refused to re-size it since it was admitting to my true weight. I know... weird thinking. My first weight loss goal is not pounds, but to be able to wear my beautiful ring again! As for not losing it at the bakery. My old neighbor owned a bakery and she wore it on a gold chain at work. She later switched to an oversized military type chain. She said she had a hard time with the little clasp on the gold one.
