i got banded in july 2008. i thought i knew what it took to work with my band, apparently not...i lost 40 lb, but then it became a disaster mixture of not eating enough and the scale didn't move or the fill that i got that was too tight so the only thing that would go down is junk food. 7 months after having the band i became pregnant, and my fill doctor decided to do a complete unfill, she said that she had seen ALOT of bands slip during pregnancy and people wouldn't know until after the baby, because they couldn't do any xrays.
I am self pay, but now i'm in graduate school, (took 43 hours this past year) single and raising my daughter, so theres not extra money for fills laying around. so finally i saved up some money and i'm getting fills again.
my main concern is i wonder if my band will still work, like do i have a chance to still lose weight? i believe i have about 5.5 cc in my 10 cc band, and i have plenty of restriction, like i'm not even going to attempt to eat carbs unless i want to throw it up :). i've read that the band isn't effective if you don't lose the weight in the first 6 months - 1 year, but i wonder if because i was completely unfilled this whole time, that now that i have some fills is it like i'm starting over?
well good luck to me
