Getting restarted (complicated story) Sorry so long!

Maybe u need more calories, around 1200 or so, so your body will not go into starvation mode. Just a thought. -
Gossip @ work about my Lap Band surgery
Kate rules replied to crash878905's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told everyone I had a hernia repair, which I did. I will eventually tell people about band. It does help that I lost a lot of weight before surgery. -
Warning for TMI: has anyone else's sex drive gone through the roof? I'm seriously distracted by this! I'm completely consumed by this spike in my libido. My poor DH doesn't know what to do! I had a very healthy, borderline nympho sex drive when I was thin before. Do you think this is here to stay? Also, my acne has cleared, my monthly cycle was not as painful and long and this is all icing on the cake that has me wanting sex for the first time in a long time. Oh, a weird side effect is my sudden desire to have a baby.

This is great exercise, though. Just curious if any of you is having this issue? I remember having the same problem a few years ago when I got really skinny. It didn't go away until I got pregnant and stayed fat. Meanwhile, I feel hormonal changes in regards to my TOM, less acne (yea!) and an out of the blue desire to have a baby. This is insane, but the ride is fun. -

BDUs for law enforcement. I graduated to a medium shirt in June but the pants are definitely still a challenge. The large pants are way too big in legs and butt and the waist has 4 inches to spare! But the mediums are just too small in the waist - I think I need another two inches off waist in order to wear. I had to wear civilian clothes for my 3 weeks of limited duty and found myself enjoying my shrinking body! I'm serious, going to my closet is like going to the mall! I found clothes I forgot about and made them look good! I have a super sexy black evening gown that I want to be in by Christmas. Have to be at 155 for that, 16 pounds from where I'm currently sitting. -
ANY HOPE OF RESTRICTION AFTER FIRST Lap Band FILL????
Kate rules replied to Allison0927's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My practice's PA is out of the office next week so I have to wait an extra week for my first fill. Bummer, I'm hungry! -

I don't know if anyone else in our group has had a tummy tuck before now, but I'm realizing mine will need to be touched up. A mini-tuck is in my future! -

Want to lose at least 2 pounds more so I can get to a bmi of 30 before my first fill. Unfortunately, with no help from the band, I'm really struggling with that. But I've had NSVs that tell me I'm definitely losing fat, especially around my middle. So, I'm just going to roll with it and see how it goes. -

Sitting in a chair
Kate rules replied to jeeptrk03's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had trouble with office chair. Took heating pad to work because I cannot take narcotic pain meds while on duty. Did that for 3 weeks post op. Better now. I'm going into 5th week. -
Getting my band tomorrow!!

I broke my plateau weight of 172 this morning. 171.2! Yea! First time I've seen that in probably 5 years. Came close 3 years ago but yo-yo'd my way back up. Let's savor these moments.

How's everyone doing? Shauna, Lisa, all of you? I'm stalled at 172, my nemesis weight through the past 10 years. I know once I break through the plateau I will be ok but I'm frustrated right now. For some perverse reason my body thinks this weight is right for me. Ugh... Looking forward to my first fill. Hope you all are doing well. -
Post-op Challenges
Kate rules replied to Sweetnurselyd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Give your body a break. Napping isn't a bad thing - you are doing your body a favor. It took me around 3 weeks to get back to my usual self. I'm at 1 month post op today and feel completely better. I'm sure you'll be back to your usual self, probably even more energetic, in a few weeks. In the meantime, enjoy the naps. -
Good work! I have a fabulous pair of nike windpants that I finally had shortened so I can wear properly - they were only gone for 5 days - but I put them on today and my keys were literally pulling them off my rear end! Guess it is time to retire the xl nike pants and find a pair of loose-fit large pants. You know they have been my favorite pants through 40+ pounds of weight loss/gain but I'm not sad to retire them. We should all salute our bigger clothes for their faithful service and retire them well. BY GOING SHOPPING!

Amy, sorry about the PBing. I am having the worst day because my digestive track is way off kilter. My daughter is sick too, so wondering if I have another bout of stomach flu coming. Glad I haven't had fill yet. Ugh... -

Amy, how's the infection doing? Hopefully antibiotics are killing it... Finally got the 4 pounds of water/bloating off me again, back at 172 pounds. I still feel almost no restriction. Haven't lost any weight since hitting 172, but I also know that 172 has always been a MAJOR plateau for me. I have always had trouble at this weight. But, I have lost some more fat around my middle, so maybe my body is morphing into a more efficient machine. I HOPE. I swear, I am under 1000 calories per day. Oh, and any of you who live in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area: I'm doing the 9-11 5K on September 10. Any band buddies want to join me? -
Try getting spanx during nordstrom half yearly sale. It is how I got mine. I wore spanx from anywhere in the 185 pounds down to 149 pounds. I got the "higher power" spanx that has thigh, hip, tummy, and back roll control to the bra line. Even at my skinniest, the spanx helps create a smoother silouette (sorry to butcher spelling). I don't work for spanx but wish I had purchased stock because my business alone probably helped boost them!

LOL! My old screen name! Guess I remembered my first account credentials after all! How did ads get there? -
Yes. My doctor told me that my TOM could be erratic for a month or two after surgery. Told me to be careful reference birth control (we use it anyway) in light of that.

Ads in my respone?
Kate rules replied to kellyodoran's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found ads on one of my posts from yesterday, and I don't do that shady advertising stuff... wonder what's going on. -
I usually pull the restaurant server aside and tell them about the band. So far, I have received major discounts at buffets, etc., and I know they look at my plates. One asked me "is that all you can eat?" and I said "no, but it is all that I want to." I was so proud of myself. I used to be able to kill the buffet and felt the need to get my $23 worth of food. Now, I feel better when I eat less. The smaller bill is a benefit, too!
