Here are my thoughts... I'm not banded either. I have been trying to decide between lapband or gastric.
I have PCOS polycystic ovarian syndrome
I can diet and eat small meals and eat protein snax not to slow my metabolism and exercise. And lose nothing or a half pound. Some women don't even know they have pcos, but it affects metabolism. I have been researching and finding that lapband is a tool that can help. But it does not curb hunger. However when u have gastric a hormone is released in the brain because u bypass the large intestine that tells the brain it's not hungry. This comes from my Dr and My nutritionist. Good luck and thanks for your posts!!!!
Hi everyone,
I have been on the fence about gastric and lapband. I have PCOS-polycystic ovarian disease. Which means my metabolism is slow and stores fat like I eat candy bars even when I don't. I am afraid of gastric and I am going to my appt's towards lapband. the nurse practitioner told me I wsould only lose up to 30 pds on lapband. Has anyone seen success with lapband? thanks! Tanya From NC
Hi,
I am a band teacher, and you probably think I'm crazy but I play the flute professionally and also play all the instruments. I wonder if it would slip. Porbably NOT, but want to ask.
thanks
Tanya
Thanks Kozy and Kat for your comments. I have doen about 1/2 of my preop appts. I have my gallbladder out next week and I can have lap band in about a month. I still have to submit all my aperwork too. thanks and good luck. Tanya
Hi, I had decided to have gastric...I have 100 to lose...,
But gastric scares me...so I am planning on lapband.
thanks for this post and all the comments it has helped!
I have been on the fence between lapband/gastric/or nothing. All 3 are scary...have PCOS so need to choose...leaning towards lapband because less risks...any advice?
