  1. I had my surgery on 6/24/11, making me 6 days post op. I am having excruciating pain in my chest, shoulder and tummy. But I just feel so guilty taking my pain medication. I've never been big on taking medicine to mask pain, I'd rather find the natural way to get rid of it. Finally, my mom MADE me take it... and boy am I glad. I seriously feel SO much better. But I know tomorrow when I'm back to having the same pain -- I'm going to have this same battle with myself. Anyone else do this, or am I crazy?

    Breaking the rules

The point of the liquids is to allow your body to heal. I am on day 6. and trust me, I'm feeling the pain too. But those foods are far too much for your still-healing-tummy! The band is not going to give you any restriction without a fill, so all that food is going to go down smoothly. Back to your liquid diet!
  3. Dont feel bad, I was puking the entire time in the recovery room!

    Laying on stomach

I was banded on 6/24, making me 6 days post op & I can sleep on my stomach. I do feel a bit of pressure, but it doesn't bother me. I guess it depends on the person & your pain tolerance/healing abilities. Best of luck to you! I'm a tummy sleeper as well!

How should I handle my next fill visit?

I'm sorry, that sounds really frustrating. I would definitely be assertive and say "its my body and I know it better than you. If its too tight I can always come for an unfill. But at this point I'd rather it be too tight than have no restriction whats so ever." Sometimes you just have to be that way! Lets us know how it goes.

    "Stuck"

    LOL to the second paragraph!
  9. Does this mean that I won't be intubated during surgery? I'm scheduled this Friday, June 24th. Post Op lap band patients: Were you intubated? Did anyone else have to bring their CPAP machine?

PMS + Pre Op = STARVING

Honestly, I have the same problem. I'm on day 12 of my 2 week pre op diet and today I ATE pizza. I'm freaking out now, because I've done so well *14 lbs down* ...don't fall off the band wagon like I did, you will feel SO guilty! The other 13 days I would just drink an extra Protein shake, or have carrots or some fresh fruit Pre op diet: 1 shake for Breakfast 4 oz of chicken or turkey + 1 cup carrots + small dinner salad for lunch 1 shake for dinner AND A LOT OF Water

Not June 22, but June 24th! 2 days after you! Good luck!!
  14. I started Saturday June 11, 2011. So it has been 6 days (not including today) and I'm 13 lbs down. I have another week and today to go, so hopefully I get down to -25 or so. That's what I'm hoping for. Diet: 1 Protein shake in the morning (powder, 8 oz non fat milk & 2 oz water), and then I eat 4 oz of baked chicken, 1 cup of carrots & a handful of salad with vinegar on it. Sometimes I drink another Protein Shake for dinner if I'm hungry. But lately, no dinner. Surgery date: June 24, 2011
