Looking for June 2011 Bandits!
tengles replied to kittyforet's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Getting banded on Thursday and I am so excited! My days are going by so slow I feel like it is still at two weeks out instead of two days. Maybe packing today will make it seem closer. Also starting my clear liquid diet today. I only need to do it the day before but I just can't wait. I need suggestions on my B vitamin and Calcium. Are there other ways to take them other than crushing them? They are big pills and taste horrible when crushed. Wondering if there is a chewable calcium citrate ( taking Citrical right night per Dr) and dissolving B-100 or B Complex. Thanks Tanya -

No pre-op diet here but I'm getting banded on the 30th also. Pretty excited. My after diet is one week clear liquids, one week full liquids, two weeks pureed diet and two weeks soft diet then regular diet. People I have talked to that had it done by different Dr have said that they were pretty much one week liquid and two weeks soft. What are some of your after surgery diets. -

I read on the website that you should get temp card from package at time of surgery or if you go to the website and register for the my lapband journey, once registered you can click on the left side where it says notification card. -
Tanya from st cloud mn and after a year and a half from first date I saw surgeon I am finally getting banded.

That sounds good to roast the chicken and veggies first.

Any good recipes or variations for chicken broth. I do not like the canned stuff and so I need to flavor it up so I can get it down. Also did anyone have no appetite after surgery and did not eat, how was recovery? I have a pretty low appetite after I have any surgery (had c section in 2008, back surgery in 2009 and another back surgery 2010) where I just was not hungry.

Looking for June 2011 Bandits!

Oh, I had to lose 10% and keep it off since march. I also have to be at my pre band weight day of surgery or they will not do it. It's hard to keep the weight off for so long, I would have preferred the liquid diet at least a week before surgery. I may just do it anyhow. Tanya -

I don't understand why some of you go through a liquid diet weeks before surgery. My Dr has me on liquids the day before surgery. -

I'm excited for surgery, but I love having surgeries (???). I am a little nervous for the post surgical though. I would love to email/text back and forth. I use my cell phone for internet so if you want to stay connected send me an email here and ill give you my personal email. I'll keep you and your surgery in prayer. -

Thanks, I'll try that.

I'm getting banded on the 30th and can't wait. My days are going by so slow. Has anyone had the Lap Band and actually received the notification card that let's restaurants know you have a band. This seems like a cool thing so that when I go out I can get smaller portions -
That's how long my process took. It was submitted to insurance on march 21 and it took three months with them. It seemed that little things with paperwork kept getting messed up. But as soon as I was approved the process is fast.

So I am getting banded on June 30th and I need to practice taking my pills. Any suggestions on best way to take pills now and post surgery? I've tried crushing and it's pretty bad and I want to split them but I'll have to take them all day long. Thanks for the help!
