I'm glad to see you broke your plateau. I lost 25 pounds in the two week preop diet and the first 2 weeks postop then I have been at a hault the past two weeks. It is very frustrating.

You should be proud of yourself. It's amazing all the things we have hidden behind rolls of fat!! Your photos are so inspiring. Thank you for sharing with us! -
Well, this will be day 5 of clear liquids and I am getting sick of them. Really having a hard time getting in all the protein and I know I am not gettting enough calories. Tomorrow I will get to start full liquids. I am getting excited to ,have something new to eat, hallulujah!! But all in all I have done much better than I expected to do. Just waiting for the weight to fall off.

Being alone after surgery
nursedye replied to mythreechildren2001's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just had mine Monday. Had my dad pick me up and take me home, then I was by myself and I did just fine. -
Well, Monday is the big day. I am starting to get a bit antsy but I am looking forward to getting the show on the road. My surgeon, Dr. Goodnight, requires that we go on a 1000 calorie Atkins diet with max of 40g carbs for 10 days prior to surgery to help shrink the liver and make it easier and safer to do the surgery. The first 3 days were horrible but I have adjusted. Starting to miss my carbs though. I am not much of a meat eater so I have eaten some meat and a lot of protein supplements. I thought I would really miss Coke, but surprisingly, I haven't missed it at all. I am a grazer normally but I have been making myself eat regular meals. Amazingly I haven't really been hungry. I elected to do the diet for a full 2 weeks and with only 3 days left, I have lost 13.2 pounds. That's a great feeling. All that protein makes me bloated and constipated, so I am worried about how I am going to manage that with all the protein supplements I will be using. I bought some benefiber and I will be trying that. Hopefully it will help. Cheers to all you sleevers, may we all be successful in this journey.

Had my sleeve done yesterday. I did really well after surgery with little pain and no nausea. Of course it was a rough night and I got little sleep. Today I started clear liquids. Popsicles and jello go down well. But the liquids hurt the second they hit my stomach . And I am so bloated today that i feel like I am 9months pregnant. Is this normal?

Thanks for your responses. Makes me feel better. I expected to feel this way right after surgery and didn't . Then, this evening I am so painfully bloated with the pain going straight through to my back. I'm sure it's just the gas.

At the hospital where I work, we have the patients start the vitamins the day after they go home.

That's an amazing transformation! Congratulations -
I work at a hospital where we do the sleeve. I am having the surgery June 27th and there is no way I think I can stomach that stuff. We give it to our patients and I have tried all the flavors and they are so bad. Such a horrible aftertaste and it sticks to your teeth. A friend of mine let me try some liquid protein that comes in a little gel pack that you add to water called Proti that she purchased from diet direct. The grape was yummy. Tastes just like sf grape koolaid without an aftertaste. I will be stocking up on that instead. Nutritionally it is comparable to Isopure.
