All, I thought I saw a thread with mushy recipes and I thought it was pinned but I can't find it. Can anyone help guide me there and/or provide good recipes or ideas for the next two week mushy stage? Thank you! http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wsZu76k/weight.

I see these in posts on this site all the time. I got banded on 7-7-11 and had a fill on 8-8-11 and I haven't really had any issues to my knowledge. I have to admit I don't know what PB and sliming mean. Can anyone please explain? Sorry for the dumb question

I haven't had anything come up when I burp but sometimes I feel like I need to burp to get something down if that makes sense, and I'll burp about 10 times and then feel ok. I guess I've been fortunate so far.

I haven't really figured this out yet, but how many calories should we be intaking as banders? I know it depends on weight and various factors but anyone have a rough idea? I'm going for my 2 week post-op check-up on Thursday so I can ask then but I was just curious. I don't want to overeat and I want to make sure I get the Proteins in so I'm trying to build a program for me in hopes of making it easier. Thank you.

I'm planning on starting back up on the EA Sports Active 2 workout on Monday which will be about 2.5 weeks after surgery and after I meet with my doctor. It can be a little intensive at times with some running and ab exercises. Should I be worried about that and is it too soon for ab exercises? I think you can customize the workout around it but I was just wondering. Thank you.

They told me no abs, no weights and no swimming for at least 6 weeks out. It's only 3 more weeks I guess, I miss swimming the most since it's been 105 everyday here in Texas.

I think you have to find an inspiration. Personally I'm not doing it for myself really, which might be bad, but I'm doing it for my 2-year old daughter and I want to be there to see her grow up and do things with her that my parents weren't able to do with me. I want to see her graduate from high school, college, medical school(haha) and live a happy successful life. I think it's about finding your own inspiration though, everyone has one whether they know it or not yet. Good luck to everyone.

I just downloaded the app for my iphone and I set it up for 2 pounds a week. It says I can intake like 2120 calories a day with 30 minutes of exercise 4 days a week. Is that right? I am hoping to be cleared for the mushy stage on Thursday so I figured this could help with accountability btut 2120 seems like a lot of calories I guess.

I was banded on 07-07-11 and like most people I'm on liquids only for 2 weeks and then I'll go to the pureed/mushy stage. I am dying. I've been doing Protein shakes and chicken broth since June 7th and I think I've just had enough. I've eaten a couple crackers and pretzels and chewed them well just to see if I could get them down and so far I've had no problems. I know that it's not advisable or the right thing to do, but I just want some food. I'm struggling and I know it's less than a week and I will tear up some KFC mashed potatoes, haha. Sorry this is just a rant, I want food.

I had the band done on the 7th. I have been really sore around the incisions but I haven't felt a lot of gas pain. I was up walking around a lot afterwards, however I've only had one protein shake and a 1/2 cup of chicken broth since then. I felt so nauseus(sp?) and I called the doctor last night and they said I was dehydrated which sounds right because I haven't even felt like drinking anything. I'm down 5 pounds since the surgery and 52 over all so I guess I'll manage. I'm back at work today and hoping for an easy day. I'll just be glad when I can eat a mashed potato or something with substance.

Well I'm getting the band done on Thursday, July 7th. I'm not really nervous or excited I just want it over and done with. I've lost 36 pounds as of last Wednesday so I might be closer to 40 by now pre-surgery. Does anyone know how long I'll be sore afterwards? I know it varies depending on the individual but just a general guess would do. Anyone who recently had it done experience any problems? I'm just ready to eat something. I've still got another 2 weeks after surgery before I can start the pureed diet, and I'm not sure I can just blend up meat and eat it. In my book they recommend getting a taco bell bean and beef burrito and not eat the shell with sour cream, cheese, beans and beef so I guess that's mashed down enough to eat. It sounds like I'll be eating KFC mashed potatoes for about 2 week, haha. Good luck to all.

I created this one day when I was doing atkins and was dying for pizza. I get banded on the 7th of July and I guess I'll see if this works after the surgery. Take a square pyrex dish(medium size) Spray the bottom and sides with Pam Layer the bottom with pepperoni or turkey pepperoni Sprinkle Mozzerella cheese on top of the pepperoni Add a little pizza sauce (or low sugar Ragu) Cook up ground sausage or turkey sausage and add that on top Add another layer of Mozzerella cheese and another good smoothed out layer of pizza sauce Top the dish with another full layer of pepperoni and sprinkle on mozzarella cheese Bake on 425 for about 8-10 minutes, It is a litty crispy but mushy at the same time, I loved it!

I know that you shouldn't eat it after surgery but I want to know if it can be eaten? I'm talking New York Style crust type pizza, I understand that thick doughy stuff is out but I'm just curious if anyone has had luck or trouble? Thanks.

I start the two-week liquid diet officially tomorrow and my surgery is scheduled for July 7th. I'm not really nervous or excited just ready for it to be over with. Anyone else have that kind of feeling? I've actually been on a liquid diet since June 7th per their request and I've dropped 28 pounds in 16 days, not very healthy but still awesome none the less.

Hello all, I am new to the site but I have read some great stories and picked up a lot of good information. I congratulate everyone on their journies to better health. I do have a couple quick questions that I was wondering if anyone could help me out with. The first thing is I am currently on Optifast, drinking 3-4 shakes a day and drinking 1 8oz cup of low sodium chicken broth a day for 4 weeks until surgery and 2 weeks after surgery. I was wondering if my only option is Optifast? Everyone knows it is very expensive and hard to get a hold of, other than at a doctor's office and when I look at some other Protein shakes that will help lose weight and make sure your liver is cleaned out prior to surgery it seems like I can get a huge tub of powder for 14.99, does it matter? Also, I would like some real life people feedback on what people who have actually had the surgery are having problems eating? I know what the doctors say but I'm just want some real world experience, because I honestly don't know anyone who has personally had the surgery done. Thank you all. I love the weight loss tally's at the bottom of everyone's posts hopefully I can start doing that someday.

Hello all, I'm new to the forum. I am getting banded on July 7th. I am 30 years old and weigh 394, it looks even worse when I type it out how much I weigh but I felt good and still mobile and everything. Of course I'm fairly young so that plays into it. I'm doing this for myself and my 2 year old daughter, I want to be sure I'm around to see her grow up. I was actually put on an all liquid Protein shake diet that started on June 7th that will supposedly last until 2 weeks after surgery. It is incredibly difficult but I'm doing it. It seems like it's forever away but hopefully it's here and gone before I know it. I want to get down to 200 pounds and I know I've lost a few since starting the shakes only but I have been unable to weigh. Congratulations to everyone for making this decision in their lives.
