Hi! I have wanted to have the Lap Band surgery for several years. My doctors kept telling me "No, no, no - blah, blah, blah). My family reciently moved to Idaho and my new doctor is a huge fan. I went to a seminar on May 18, 2011 and knew right away that this was for me. I filled out my paperwork and scheduled my first weigh-in for May 20th. I new I was in my 220's but was surprised I was actually 238. Somehow (FOOD) I had gained 18 or so pounds without realizing it. My WL (weight loss) coordinator, Jamie, said I needed to lose at least 11lbs for my surgeon to preform the surgery. I was also given a list of obsticles that needed to be done before we could schedule anything. I have since lost 19lbs (liver should be in great shape for the surgery), seen the dietician, psychiatrist, and had all the lab work and x-rays completed. I have my first appointment with my surgeon on June 20th. I am so excited! I have already checked with my insurance (Tricare) and they will definitely approve my surgery. Jamie said I could have my surgery as soon at June 23rd if the insurance referel goes through which she doesn't think will be a problem. I hope to have my surgery on June 28th instead and that will give us just a few extra days just incase! I hope to get lots of info from all of you and can't wait til I'm able to give some. I will update after my appointment with my surgeon. Talk to you soon!
