How many people have you've told about your sleeve?
june13sleever replied to Maddy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tell everyone. But I can see some people just struggling, and I wish they had the $ to do the surgery. I know how many times I was there with them saying...I have got to stop eating. I couldn't stop. I needed this to stop. So for those I hope they get it together themselves. It is possible I did it once and got a back injury which resulted in my gaining the weight back. If I didn't have the back injury I am certain I would still be thin or thinner. But once you are so far gone you just kind of give up and with an injury I am certain it would be hard to maintain such a low calorie diet. This is like a jump start, but EVERYONE needs a jump start in whatever form it may come. -
Any one with no hair loss?
june13sleever replied to Pagie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is coming out everyday! I have had it in a bun for a couple of weeks because I don't really want to know, but I have to color it. It is super gray! I bought some color from the store because I can't afford to go to the Salon right now. I might have to cut it short, but for now it is ok. I am certain I will lose more. -
So finally I can eat more...Which makes me feel a little bit better in terms of being healthy and getting in my protein, but also a little sad because I could easily fall off the wagon. I guess now more than ever I will have to start to take control. Before I couldn't eat a thing so my sleeve was in charge, but now I feel I am in charge and my sleeve is just a tool. I wasn't that great at being in charge before OBVIOUSLY! I knew this day was going to come, but I was able to throw back my chicken chilli like a normal person today! I guess now I can use the times when I am not eating to finally get my WATER/FLUIDS in...Which was a weak point for me. I just hate that hunger feeling because it isn't the same as before...it is weird. So now I ate all my soup and here comes the hunger! I was able to stay around 600 calories easy give or take, but now it looks like I could get up to 800 or 1000, and I don't want to eat that much for right now. Anybody else notice the change from when there was massive restriction to things getting a little easier to eat?

Dr. Oz and the 700 pound woman
june13sleever replied to DoOver's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
She is getting paid. Probably a lot! You couldn't get me to take a picture naked and I was only 290. She may be sick, but I think she likes the attention. She went on the show to be harassed by the audience. She did it for the $. She can certainly move very well for a big girl. Her numbers may be through the roof, but that doesn't mean she will have a heart attack . -
Did/do anyone feel like there is something stuck in yor throat
june13sleever replied to x4achange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Besides the incision pain, this was my biggest scare. It totally will go away. I am not ever really sure when mine went away, but it does! -
A New Me - Did you figure out what was wrong? I don't have any problems eating and where once I said I wish I could eat more...I now can and wish I could eat just a bite. I guess it is time to start working out! I did not go to the bathroom for a few days, but everything is back on track now. Gotta drink that water! I know I am dehydrated because my urine is strong and dark. I try drinking, but if I drink I flush everything out of my tummy that I ate and then I get hungry. I actually gained a couple of pounds, but I am not going to read too much into it. I think I am going to take a couple of weeks off from looking at the scale. I am still only weighing myself once a week, but with the small gain I am thinking I need to maybe go back to just Protein. Let me know if you went to see the doctor.

I am 40 pounds down pre-op (6)/surgery (34). I am now realizing that I can eat more than before. I am tempted by chocolate because it goes down so easy. Had some sno caps at the movie. Didn't eat the whole box even though I could have so was glad for the self-control for once! Slurpees also go down so easy Peanut Butter too! So these past couple of days I have wanted sweets which at first I never thought I could eat, but now things are a bit easier and anything that melts in my mouth that I don't have to chew just slides right on down. I am not feeling too bad about it, but I don't want to get out of control. I haven't started working out yet, but know I need to start. I am pooping ok, drinking ok, hair is shedding a bit, trying to get my Vitamins in. Need to be better. How is everyone else doing

Help! Stomach cramping a lot...
june13sleever replied to HDubSleevery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had to take antibiotics and the directions say to take on an empty stomach. So I did and I thought I was going to die. I got violently ill. NEVER AGAIN! Take on a full stomach. -
And from August 13th to today I have already lost 16 pounds! I guess it will be a slow month next week. I can't believe I am 235! That is only just a short distance away from 199 and then a short distance away from wherever I land. WHERE WILL I LAND! I don't ever remember weighing less than 180 since high school and even then I don't remember weighing less than 180, and I don't think I was 5'10" when I weighed 180. If I get to under 200 I will be happy, but anything under 199 is just going to be nuts! I haven't even started to work out! Which now that I feel I can consume more, I am going to start this month sometime! THIS IS NUTS, but I am so glad I had good enough credit to get the loan. Thank you CARE CREDIT! I also just recently found out the guy I want to do my lower body lift also takes CARE CREDIT! So I will be paying off the loan this year and by June or July of next year I should be ready for the next adventure!

Looks like our weight loss progress is about the same I have 6 more days to go, but this month I am down 16 pounds. So if it is anything like you next month should be a small loosing month. I have not even started working out! When did you start working out? I also started smoking again. Nothing like I used to, but every other day maybe one or two. SUCKS!

So, any "post partum" for those who've reached goal?
june13sleever replied to Rootman's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I will think about a tummy tuck or lower body lift. The thing you get to remove fat on your arm. Then I will think about getting a tan (real or fake) and then wearing a bikini on the beach. I just want to wear a bikini! Skinny people think about themselves -
Typical day, typical foods
june13sleever replied to Penpen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Almost 3 months out. I hate eating anything that isn't mushy still because I don't chew chew chew. I need to work on that. Breakfast. I am always late so it is a hard boiled egg or string cheese on the go. An hour later Water or protien drink or something yummy to drink with lots of ice! Mid-Morning through Late Afternoon: Soup I eat soup all day long until it is gone. I will eat chilli or clam chowder or chicken noodle or chicken tortilla. That is about 2 cups and takes me a good 6 hours. Dinner: Egg, Cheese, Fish or meat of some kind. Then more drinking, popsicles, fudge pops or ice cream depending on how much weight I lost for the week. Occassionally I like some doritos or cheetos and I savor them. I don't eat bread, but will eat Beans, potatoes and rice...If it is in the soup. and the occasssional french fry if someone has some on their plate I don't count carbs or calories or fat or anything. I just watch the scale and only weigh in every Monday. I only really eat organic and only things that are freshly made with little to no perservatives. Except my MSG filled cheetos or Doritos on occassion. I would love to cut out artificial sweetners, but water isn't my friend everyday so I have to drink light drinks or zero calorie drinks. I am down 54 pounds in 12 weeks without working out. I will start working out this month. I am loosing my hair which will probably get worse. I need to work on chewing more and also need to work on making sure to take my Vitamins. I would like to eat some salad soon, but not until I really get the chewing down! -

Having a really hard time today
june13sleever replied to HDubSleevery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! You just had surgery! You are doing a lot for just having surgery! You need to sit down and take a load off! It will get better! -
I eat whatever I want whenever I want. I can't even eat alot so I stay around 500 to 800 calories a day. I hate eating anything that isn't mushy, but would love a california roll. I just wouldn't want to buy more than three small ones because it would be a waste. I only buy things that last and reheat well. Even if I am not eating the raw sushi I still feel funny eating things a few days after.

10 months out, 100 lbs down, with pics!
june13sleever replied to SouthernSleever's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Ok Well I hoping that I trend the same way you did! I have not started working out yet, but I have to start soon. Did you work out a lot? I was about the same size as you, but I had my boobs cut off a long long long time ago. I think I am probably a lane bryant 16 now which is probably a old navy 20. Sizes are so weird nothing is consistent. I remember once back in 2003 when I lost the weight on my own I wore a size 14 jeans, but I was 190 at the time. I never got below a 14 jeans. They were express jeans. I still have them! I soooooo want to be a 10! or an 8. At 5'10" I could be smaller, but I looked great at a 14 so 10 would be CRAZY! I am able to eat more now then when I first got sleeved. I can tell there is more room in there! The month you only lost 4 were you being super strict with your diet? -
BIG secret... good or bad?
june13sleever replied to indy sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tell everyone! And what is so funny everyone always says either I had the bypass surgery x many years ago or their sister did or their friend did. I was just on the phone with a woman who when I said it she said...I had bypass 10 years ago. This was just last week! I love telling people! The day before my surgery I was eating broth at a restaurant with my family and the waitress said...honey, why aren't you eating anything. I told her...I am having gastric sleeve surgery tomorrow. She said....I had bypass 6 years ago. I don't feel ashamed about what I did! I have realized that most people just do not know what it is like to be fat. It is horrible. I think most people with the means and knowledge would opt for this surgery. I also have pretty thick skin...But don't most of us? I grew up as a fat kid and never once have been skinny skinny so maybe my skin is a little thicker, but I would love it for someone to judge me, I like the opportunity to rebuttle. ***BTW I remember the woman I was on the phone with ate her entire meal and an appitizer with nothing left on the plate. Looking back, now that I know she had bypass...I am freaked out a little. I mean she really at the WHOLE MEAL. It wasn't a little meal either! IT WAS A BIG A** PLATE OF FOOD! -

Surgery Date: 6/13 Weight: 290 One Month Out: 7/13 Weight: 261 Two Months Out: 8/13 Weight: Guesstimating 250 So that would be 40 pounds in 2 months for me. But as you can see it probably only going to be 10 pounds the last month. Please post your progress -
