Stocking My House And The Perfect Diet
june13sleever replied to disneyteach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Popsicles are a must have. I took soups that I like and blended them. Chicken broth and jell-o. Vitamin water. Gatorade. Thinking back to those early days I don't really remember eating anything except for soup...I ate soup for months! Mashed potatoes and soup. That was my life! -
I have my own views on this. I have lost 110 pounds in a little over 10 months. I attribute my success to my eating habits early on. For the first three months I probably ate 500 calories. For the next three months I probably ate 500 to 900 calories. For the next four months I ate 800 to 1000 calories. I can eat 1200 now, but I try not to. I am hungry now so sometimes I just eat over 1200, but I don't worry about it because I don't want to get to 160 like I thought I did. 170 would be fine. I never stalled. Even know I have been loosing 1 pound a week. I still have not started working out. I did work out one weekend and lost 2 pounds that week. I was 182 on Monday, but my doctor's scale is 4 pounds lighter...so 178. I know so many people disagree, but you can not get your first six months back and you will be able to eat more and you will have more hunger.

How Much Can You Eat?
june13sleever replied to anniew's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 10 months out I now try to make sure my meals consist of some dense protien. I can eat one lean cuisine. I typically can only eat 3/4 of it, but I finish the rest overtime. -
Pain...I had it for 5 weeks. It wasn't fun. My pain was from the incisions.

Almost 3 Months Out--No Bra Size Change? Is That Weird?
june13sleever replied to Sleeved&Hopeful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have big boobs, but I finally had to buy some bras at 10 months out. I was a 40 d. Now I am a Victoria secret 36 d. I suspect these will last me forever. -
I need to drink more. I still don't get enough in. I eat two cheese sticks for breakfast or some eggs then once they have digested I drink water. I try to get in two glasses and then eat lunch around 2pm. I push it until I am hungry. Then I eat meat and a little carbs. Then I drink again. Then I eat again when I get home wait and then drink again. It is tough and I forget to drink or eat sometimes.

New Clothes...later
june13sleever replied to Jesusislove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dresses and tights! I just bought stuff off eBay. Dresses for $10 to $15. eBay has been a life saver. Nothing I used to own is in my closet anymore. I wear a dress everyday! I will wait until I am maintaining the same weight for awhile. Clothes can be expensive. -
11 months out...I thought it was the coffee yesterday. I all of a sudden got dizzy, shaky and hot. It passed, but happened again last night. Still thought it was the residual effects. It just happened again. I looked online and admit to eating some crap carbs this evening going straight to bed without much protein. Really scary. It came on so quick too. I am not going to mess around with crappy carbs for awhile and see if that is the culprit. I just baked a small piece of fish and sitting up in bed. It won't digest for sometime so I will probably try to sleep sitting up. Has this ever happened to anyone? There are just so many things it could be online. I will call my doctor tomorrow.

Support Groups And This Website
june13sleever posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok! We all have different experiences, but I swear I needed like 4 weeks off of work after the surgery. I felt like crap! I was winded and just plain miserable. That was my experience! I was hoping to have one of the experiences like so many who said they felt like a million bucks after surgery, but that wasn't me. I finally feel better at 11 months, but it took so long...for me. In my support group, the only one I will ever attend again, I told my story and people ganged up on me like my experience was invalid and that I am not normal. I was super positive about the surgery, you would never hear me say I regretted it, but just in case someone had a rough recovery I just wanted them to know what I felt. I didn't have any gas whatsoever, but I didn't downplay people that did have gas. It was just a really weird experience. I see it on this bored sometimes too. I just want everyone to know that more than likely whatever your story is there is someone who has gone through something similar and it is ok for things not to be this great recovery with no problems. It is important that we all share our experiences and if I ever sounded like I was downplaying yours that wasn't my intent. -
I drank coffee today. Um I still have the shakes 8 hours later. I am never drinking coffee ever ever ever again!

Coffee I Hope!
june13sleever replied to june13sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the taste, but it was Starbucks cold coffee that you make. I have had a cappuchinno with no problem, but that cold instant coffee with sugar...I still feel it... -
Support Groups And This Website
june13sleever replied to june13sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It wasn't like an attack. It was like the guy who was going to have surgery on Monday was like how long did it take you to recover? So I said forever! People would then say...yeah I didn't take anytime to recover as if I was the oddball out. Looking at my like I was strange. Like me taking a long time to recover and feeling like crap for 6 months was just unheard of and I was unusual. Look you need to know what is going to happen so you are not freaking out or thinking you have an abnormal problem. I didn't stress most of the time because someone on this board always had something I could relate to...like the lump in my throat that was there for a month, and I thought I was going to kill myself because it was hell to go through. There was one girl who that lump too. THAT WAS REALLY THE WORST FOR ME. I won't go back to that meeting every again. -
20 Ways To Tighten Skin After Weight Loss
june13sleever replied to JimmyGotSLEEVED's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A wrap? Are you serious. Muscle, time, age, length of time you were fat and genetics all play a part in your skin's elasticity. I didn't have the skin issues I had when I lost weight before because I lost weight in a different way. I kept my muscle in tact. This time around...the huge calorie defecit and not working out cause me to be flabby. Sure in time some of it will snap back, but I am prone to stretch marks. That skin is already stretched. Some people won't have skin problems and some people will, but I wouldn't go spending money on creams, wraps, skin scrubbing. Only time and muscle mass will tell how much snap back you are going to get. The rest, if you are still dissastisfied will have to be surgically removed. -
When is my hair going to grow back in month 11. Still coming out no new growth. Will it ever come back!

20 Ways To Tighten Skin After Weight Loss
june13sleever replied to JimmyGotSLEEVED's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think all of these are bull. Sorry...just my opinion. The biggest loser people are lifting weights like crazy and still have flabby skin. Genetics and age are your only hope! If any of these have been medically proven let me know. I will give it a try. I think building muscle mass might be my only hope... But skin removal surgery might just have to happen -

Losing Without Protein Drinks?
june13sleever replied to Cherrybomb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Smoothie king has some good powder they can mix into a drink, but a small drink at smoothie king is more than we could consume in two days. And then they want to charge $7 for a smoothie. Oh I did buy the roasted edamame which has the most protein, at the lowest volume of food, with the least calories, but I just didn't like it either...but it is something you should try if you can handle nuts ok -
Losing Without Protein Drinks?
june13sleever replied to Cherrybomb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh the nasty protein drinks. I didn't find but one kind that I liked. Nectar was even nasty smelling to me. I remember one season of the biggest loser where the doctor mentioned to one of the contestants who had previously had gastric bypass 10 years past that her body was nothing but fat. I recently had a body fat test done at 9 months - a real one - on a machine like the one they have on the biggest loser and as I suspected my muscles are basically gone and I am just a gooey sack of blubber and bones. At 5'10" my muscles and bones weighed about 110 pounds... Women could have 20 to 30 percent far so if I were 150 I would be a healthy weight, but for me that would be way too thin. Anyhoo it is the low carbs that shed the pounds and high protein that builds the muscles. I am hoping to restore some of my muscle at some point this year, but that is a very long process for us women so it very important to find something and WORK out!!! Two things I just didn't do I hope to report in six months time an increase is muscle mass, but still thinking to myself, in my 11th month, how in the hell am I going to get all that protein in. I think this weekend I am going to try some bars because the drinks are just nasty! I sent the powder that I had to some people on the board -
My best friend saw me after a couple of weeks and said...You have a bobble head. People have always told me I have a big head, but I can't tell because I look at it everyday. But my best friend...and now I am getting all of the...You are getting too skinny. My mom is the only one who is like...keep going...lose as much as you can. I feel like I could lose more and look ok. I am not even a size 8 yet I couldn't even stop losing weight if I wanted to. It is going where it is going. I really need some good come backs...I mean really good ones...that shoot an arrow straight back into their heart, but I am not that Witty. Suggestions. I am, as of the morning, down 109 pounds. At 5'11" I am 182 On my doctor's scale I would probably be 178. I am still overweight Let the comebacks begin!

Can't Stop Eating
june13sleever replied to kristine34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sometimes I think I am snacking a lot, but when I actually add it all up I am still losing weight and eating hardly anything. You really gotta see how much you are eating. Protein is important for muscles and keeping them. I forgot my vitamins for awhile When I don't take my vitamins I can see the effects in my nails. The peel at the bottom of the cuticle. I like gummy vitamins. It is like a treat. Don't be too hard on yourself. -
How many calories are you getting in?
june13sleever replied to So Cal Kurt's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am at my Dr's Goal, and i don't want to lose anymore as I really think this is a nice place for me, but I am going to lose more. Not sure when it will stop. There is alot that could still go, but I really like where I am. As usual I am scared. -
Top 3 Tips For Success
june13sleever replied to VSG Barry's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Work out BEFORE SURGERY. START NOW. Then after, once your DR. says ok...you will already be ready...it will already be a part of your life. You will lose muscle (which is ok because you don't need all that muscle since you won't weight as much) but you don't want to lose too much. Your protein supplements may not be enough so you have to make sure you are building and maintaining as much muscle as you can through excersize. I had a HUGE BUTT. Didn't work out...It is GONE! I MEAN GONE. I am a flat pancake...DO YOU WANT TO BE A FLAT PANCAKE This is my biggest regret.
