Surgery Failed Today!
june13sleever replied to Sleeve-A-Licious's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow That is A BIG BLOWER! I would cry a lot. I just watched the 20/20 episode about the Dr in California who did a lap band procedure and the liver was lacerated several times. The woman died from the lacerations. The liver is very serious so that is great news that he decided to stop, but the anticipation - Killer! -
Did Anyone Self Pay In The Us?
june13sleever replied to Izzybeff's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
$18,000...must be because I am in DC. They all wanted like $25k for bypass. This area is so expensive. It got $15,900 from care credit. 0% interest for 18 months. I only owe $6000. Every extra penny I have goes to pay for this surgery. Even all the plastic surgeons out here are expensive. -
Still A Slave
june13sleever replied to shellbell33081's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eat whatever you want, but keep your portions under control if your sleeve has more wiggle room. It was one piece of chicken. My sleeve doesn't like fried food anymore. But it loves ice cream! I still eat the stuff that I love I just don't eat a whole gallon! A pint could last me four days! -
Dense protien. salad...I didn't eat it until 6 months out. I am a weird person though.

I’M Feeling A Slight Loss Of Control With Grazing And Sweets.
june13sleever replied to Itsanewdaycassandra's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have those days...but I find that if you want the sleeve to work it is dense protien and that is it. Even salad is a slider food for me. I guess it was never the food for me...it was that full feeling. I love that feeling. So I eat some chips, and I am not full, but I can't eat anymore. I eat ice cream, and I am not full, but I can't eat anymore. There is nothing like a nice piece of fish or chicken to give me that full feeling I long for. All the sliders foods do is give me the slimies. I am not really sure what to say to you because 2 pieces of pizze and a pop tart really isn't that bad. Nutritionally speaking it isn't the greatest, but calorie wise if they were not oversized pieces of pizza that may have been about 800 to 1000 calories. You didn't gain from eating that. Maybe the salt if you were not eating salt before. Protein is important so you really should focus on that, but ice cream and pizza and chips...everything is ok in moderation which is the way everyone should live...not just us. -
One Month Update Questions
june13sleever replied to randalljohn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will enjoy them. I enjoy my 3 baby back ribs everytime instead of a full rack. Feeling full doesn't happen that soon out. It is not the same feeling, but I have it now finally. I probably got it it at about month 7. Like the satisfying full feeling. I really loved soup for the first six months. Everything else was so hard, and I hated eating. At 11 months out I am still not really eating everything because it just seems weird...like burgers or sandwiches or tacos. I still feel really weird about those items because they have more than one element...like bread, burger, lettuce, ketchup, tomatoe, pickles...Like how am i going to get a bite of all of that. So I typically just stick to one kind of meat and then a side. So baked chicken and potatoes. Not too many elements It is really weird. i want to have a taco, but the meat, shell, cheese, lettuce, tomatoe, salsa it all seems like to many things at once. I missed food too, but I don't miss the remorse after stuffing my face with pizza and tacos and wings. You will get the satisfaction back, but it will be a long while before you are there. i am going to try a taco this weekend. I can tolerate everything now...even pasta which I couldn't a few months ago. I just try to make sure I eat protien so all the other things are really extras. -
9 Month Follow Up
june13sleever replied to Kimberlina's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It is so funny that I am posting this because I am so scared to lose too much, but you are tall like me...I have one inch on you, but I weigh in at 179. I am ok to go to 160, but will take it day by day. You could go to 160 too...so you really have 20 more to go...I would weight lift...I just started, but I am still not trying to force myself to eat more food just yet. I will keep going down. I still feel like I could go down more...I just hope that my body image isn't so messed up that I become so tiny and can't even tell that I am that small...Because I do not see a small person at all, but I am actually sort of thin. -
So yesterday was my 11th month! Weighed myself...179. My restriction has consistently been the same for 4 months. I already add gravy, I don't drink only diet, and I don't eat anything light. I feel ok.. Not too thin yet...but I am worried...when does it stop?

Fear About Losing Too Much
june13sleever replied to june13sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat those things. The problem is I eat as much as I can and even in my 11th month it is tough to get it all in. I ate some ice cream...I just can't finish it. I guess I will just keep losing, but I really would like to know when people stopped. I am still ok with my body and wouldn't mind losing more, but I just would love to not be so scared of becoming too skinny. I am 5'11" -
Lower Body Lift - Tips And Advice?
june13sleever replied to BeachWithMyBabies's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I have pretty much been on different sites everyday for the past month. The doctor with most of the videos is dr. Agah. He is super expensive. A lot of people who have never even had weight loss surgery have a lower body lift. The lower body lift does not address the inner thighs which is my main concern. Realself.com addresses all the procedures and is sort of like this site. You can ask questions and doctors will respond. I am going to try my best to work out until this winter before I make the decision, but I am leaning towards a medial thigh lift first and then maybe a lower body lift in the future. It does look scary. I just watched the show the real skinny. I think we can make it through anything. Keep us updated on your surgery! -

Is There Such A Thing As A Protein Pill?
june13sleever replied to kmbrlycool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is, but there isn't a lot of protein per capsule. Spirulina has the highest protein of anything! I bought some of the capsules. -
I Don't Regret The Sleeve Surgery, But....
june13sleever replied to Willow216's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't like eating until month 7! Nothing felt right except for chicken chilli and chilli so I literally ate it everyday. Now I can eat anything. Eat soup! Not canned soups with no meat...find a good deli or fresh soup with a lot of meat! -
Why Do We Lose Our Hair?
june13sleever replied to ooffa511's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Month 11 no regrowth yet . Still losing, but it seems to be the normal loss now. Just waiting for it to come back. Heard some people never get their hair back. Bought some clip in pieces -
How Did You Get Past The First Few Weeks Of Post Op?
june13sleever replied to kmbrlycool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You get through it. Live in the moment and embrace the pain... It will pretty much be the only hardship in your fight to lose weight. Then a year from now you will be trying hard to remember what you went through. -
How Many People Have Reached (And Maintained) A Bmi Less Than 25?
june13sleever replied to ouroborous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Wish They Would Come Out With Something New Besides Sleeve.
june13sleever replied to betterthanbefore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My friend in Saudi Arabia just had the balloon done. No scars, no cutting, big in Europe, not offered here. They place a balloon in your stomach then fill it up with air??? Not sure what they fill it up with. In 6 months the balloon deflates and you pass it through your bowels. He was able to lose the same amount of weight as I did, but could easily gain it all back. I think this is a great alternative for someone with 40 to 60 pounds to lose. His wife had the bypass and is already gaining weight back after 3 years. -
Brazilian Butt Lift
june13sleever replied to june13sleever's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I don't want any implants either!! They take fat from your body and put it in your butt! I don't want anything too big, but I am flat now...anything would be an improvement! I joined a gym today...baby steps...and I am going to see how much I can change my body through increasing my muscle mass. In the meantime I have made an appointment with two doctor's for a thigh lift consultation, teeth whitening and some microdermabrasion . It is me time! -
Stupid, Non Weight-Loss Related "vanity" Question
june13sleever replied to ouroborous's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I am 35 and I have the...what my family calls...the porter frown . For the little amount of $ it costs I would try it. Just so you know I am getting my Lips done and my porter frown I am also getting a thigh lift and Brazilian butt lift. And who knows what else. I want to wear a bathing suit for once in my life! I do not feel weird about it at all. If you were by me we could go get it together -

Pizza, Popcorn, Brownies
june13sleever replied to ariesgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat it all! I didn't really eat anything bad for the first 7 months because therms wasn't enough room. Maybe some ice cream, but it was like a spoonful. I love movie theater pop corn with butter. I eat it! I tell them only to fill the bag 1/2 way and I can eat about 1/2. I don't take it home. But normally when I eat that stuff it is my meal. I don't eat popcorn then have a hamburger later -
I would like you to look at it from the perspective... If you can eat 1200 early on how many calories will you be eating a year out? Double? That is a lot of calories for a woman! You only have the first six months. Don't eat like you would a year out. This is what I ate today: 3 cheese sticks 80 calories each Small bowl of Mac & cheese 200 calories Lean cuisine 250 calories 2 eggs 80 calories each 1 sausage 80 calories 1/2 bottle of green juice 140 calories Today so far I am at 1070 calories. This was a big eating day for me! I normally never drink anything With calories, but the naked green juice was so good! Today was not a I want to lose weight day. It was a hungry day! I could eat more, but I will try not to. So this is at month 10. I ate 1/2 of this in the beginning.
