First Week Post OP Food
nalabitsy replied to beth122's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yesterday, I tried my old fav. as a kid Campell's veg. vegetable soup. I put it in the blender and made it more of a cream soup. It was delicious. I probably ate about 1/4 of a portion, but it felt so good eating "real" food. Only trouble of course with the canned soups is too salty! I also later on tried a little mashed banana and ricotta. That seemed to work too, though it did make me gassy, well everything makes me gassy! -
First Week Post OP Food

I find it amazing how every Dr, is a little different. My instructions are only one day of the clear liquid as long as that is tolerated move on to full for day 2 -3 and then pureed. I've already had some yogurt and some farina (thought the farina did not sit well) Banded on Jan. 16. Now I just sent my daughter out to get some soups that I can heat up and strain. I have to say I have been hungry and also am getting very sick of the Protein shakes, but they seem to be the only thing so far that really satisfies me to the point where I don't have those horrible hunger pangs. For meds, my instructions say to crush. I have a BP med which is time release, so instead of taking it once, I take 1/2 at night and 1/2 in AM. I will see my Med. Dr. in a cople of days to make sure thats OK, but that is what the pharmacist at the hospital told me to do. I have a feeling when I get back to the surgeons office he'll just say to take them whole. And while I'm writing, anyone have any good pureed food recipees???? -
How Many Last Meals ... ?

Hi I was just banded on Jan. 16. I think its very normal to go through the eating everything you think you're never going to be able to eat again phase. I kept trying to stop, but once I started the pre-op diet I was fine. Yes I did gain about 30 lbs. during that phase. I think its a very very strong individual who can get to the surgery without doing that.. Good Luck. -
Hi Everyone: I've been reading a lot on the board before but now that I'm actually having it done, I decided to post. I hope I'm doing this right. I'm having my surgery on Janl 16 at long last. I decided to do it back in May. I started the protein drinks Nwe Year's day. So far I'm doing pretty good, drinking mostly the ready made EAS Advantage and I really like BOOST, but its got a little too much fat. But I'm making it through. I've already shed a few. Thank you all for allowing me into your forum.
