Almost Four Years Sleeved - A Cautionary Tale

Lil welcome to the neighborhood. Good Luck on your new journey, you will do great. As all of us know WLS is only a tool and if you don't keep your head straight, focused and in the game, you will not success. As the others have posted, this is a lifetime change and the hardest part is beating those old comfy food habits and staying the course. Getting help from a counselor is great and the right thing to do, I know it help me a great deal when I was going through a very difficult time. You have all the right tools so your journey will be very successful. We are here for you!!!!!

    Introduction - from Arkansan...

JIM, welcome to this great family. First, please thank your sons for the wonderful job they are doing protecting our freedoms and our country. Second, thank you and your wife for raising patriotic men as your sons to go serve our country in this manner. Third, thank you for your inspiring words and sharing your story. So often men won't take care of themselves due to some "macho" thing from the 70's or something. I know you will have lots of great advice for us pre-opers still waiting on our surgery dates. Spread your wisdom when you can. Thanks again. :usa: :usa2:

    The Easy Way Out

I am taking notes - what a great come back to an ignorant indiviual. What courage you have!!!! Best wishes on your journey!!!! you will be very successful. This is not an easy or wreckless journey we take upon ourselves and our families. From the posts on this site, one can see that the people here have fought long and hard to do something that comes easy to others (I never can trust people who's legs don't rub together). We research, ask questions, query doctors and fight ourselves over this decision that is for the rest of our lives. Nothing about the surgery is easy, we will be focused, determined and SUCCESSFUL!!!!!!! YEAH FOR US!!!!!! THE DOERS OF THE WORLD!!!!

    My Story

good luck in your staying hydrated. The sipping is killer but reflux and vomiting is worst. Try a sippy cup, it helps and helps to keep up with your fluid intake. Best Wishes.

New and at the very beginning of my VS journey

:welcome: Phoenix Welcome to the neighborhood. Don't be afraid to ask any question as we are all family here. I am so glad you have decided on the wonderful journey and look forward to your updates on your progress. Do you have a surgery date yet? I have been on a 6 mo supervised diet for my insurance and have been trying to eat as I will after surgery. Protein, Protein, Protein is the key with low carbs from veggies and fruit. I am not familiar with the Milk diet but know the Protein-low carb is what you will be doing the rest of your life after surgery. please keep us posted on your progress and good luck. We are here for you!!!!

    Won't sleeve me...

Janese58 My surgical team stated i could take a pill as long as it was not larger than an aspirin. anything bigger i would have to 1/2 or 1/4, crush or ask my pharmacist if there is a liquid form of the meds. Good Luck tlong talk to your surgeon and if they will not comply, find another one after all you (and your insurance) are paying for the service!!!!
