    Help! I can't poo

First - STOP LOOKING A THE SCALES - your body is adjusting to a major lifestyle change, if you have to weigh only do so once a week NOT EVERY DAY or you will end up crazy and regretful, which you don't need either of right now. BE PATIENCE, easier said than done, I know, your body will drop those pounds shortly just stay the course and follow Doctors instructions!!!!!!!... Second, water, water, fluids, water and MOM(milk of magnesia) per directions. You can always do an enema if you are feeling that uncomfortable. Please keep us posted on your progress, no such thing as TMI on this site. WE are all Sleeve Sisters or Brothers. Good Luck.

    Pre-op diet anxiety

I can't wait for my liquid pre-op diet as that means i am so close to surgery date (which I don't have yet). I have been drink mostly liquids in preparation for the non food days and don't seem to get hungry. IF tummy growls, it gets liquids of some kind. I am glad I am taking this time to get ready for the new life style and changes in my life. Best of Luck on your journey, please keep us posted on your surgery and how your are dealing with everything. This forum is so helpful.

    How to come out

be honest. You have nothing to come out about. You have a tool that is working for you. They should be supportive if they are your friends. they will be envious that you have found a great tool that you are working with to your advantage to be healthier and happier. Educate them as to how the sleeve works. Good Luck. :-) You are worth it!!!

  18. I am pre-op going through my 3 month supervised diet for insurance. Hopefully in October i will be "sleeved". The posts have been wonderful getting me ready for my surgery and I want to thank you for your information and honesty. I have been trying to eat as I will after the surgery as far as high protein, low carbs, exercise, portions and I have currently lost 42 lbs. I believe I am in keotsis as I have the bad breath and taste in my mouth. My question is can keotsis also cause a change in your underarm odor??? I have notice in the last few days a stronger than usual odor that the strongest of deodorants are not masking. I wash, powder, apply and I can still detect the odor. I was curious if any one else experiences this before or after their surgery. Thanks in advance for you help and honesty. YOU ARE THE GREATEST NEIGHBORS IN THE WORLD!!!!

Kayla, get some of the liquid from the black eyed peas to satisfy your "southern" side. You should also be able to have some of the pork liquid also, just enough for the flavor and don't over do. Forget the corn bread, okra and rice though. You can do this. You are doing this for your health and I am so there with you on the Southern Food, giving up my sweet tea has been killer but I know it is the right thing for me and you can do it. Southern families are big on getting together to eat and visit so I know how hard it is. And all those wonderful smells, makes you ache I know, Been there, done that, no tee shirt or eats. You have to remember why you are doing this and that southern food help get you overweight just like it did me and many others southerners on this site. We are here for you, drink alot of water and do everything and anything to get you out of the house, go sit on the front porch and visit. Please let me know how you do, I know you will win and conquer this test. When is your surgery date? Best wishes, you can do this. You are strong!!!!!!!
  21. :welcome: Welcome Becky, you will get the best information here about the sleeve you could ever ask for. I am still preop and will finish my 6 mo supervised diet in September as well. there is alot of great knowledge you can get from all the old timers on here. Just ask questions and you will get answers. honest ones and ones that are very helpful. Maybe we can be sleeve buddies since we are on the same track to success. Please let me know if you need help with anything. I will give you all the knowledge I have weened from the posts here on this site. Good luck in your journey and i will be right in there with you!!!!

    The Easy Way Out

THANK YOU FROM THE TEAM!!!!! YOU DID GREAT
  23. Get a candle or air freshner that you can plug in to mask the smells coming from across the hall. Tiffykins has great advice (didn't sound harsh at all, just honest). We are the ones to make the choices of what goes in our mouths. Just because it is there doesn't mean we have to eat it. It is hard but we are worth the correct choices!!!!! Good luck with your sleeve!!!

    RESULTS FROM UPPING CALORIES

No magical potions, this is trial and error. If you are not losing weight then you are consuming too many calories and/or not excersicing enough to burn calories - it is that simple and yet that hard. It is not easy to find the happy place on the calorie intake and output for a body. I too am hypothyroidic and have a very low metabolism, so i have to eat much less than most people and exercise more (which i hate). We are all different and you have to find what works for you and that takes time, planning and lots of trials. WLS is a tool not the complete answer, you still have choices and free will to do or not to do what your body needs. Best wishes in your quest.
