Arrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!! How do these people get these jobs?
SmokyMtnGal2011 replied to Phoenix Rising's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Phoenix I am glad you are back on your old H20 pills. I am praying you lose whatever is needed for you to have your surgery. That is the exact reason I pray everyday that the Obamacare that was pasted in the USA will be repealled!!!! We would have to go through all the trials you have been going through and then some. Social medicine is not for the good of the people in my book. Anyway, please let me know how you are doing. Make sure you are exercising as that should help too. Wish i was there to help. Lots of helpful and encouraging angels are on their way to you!!! -
Binging prior to surgey
SmokyMtnGal2011 replied to sweetpea danderfluff's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been trying for the 6 month supervised diet to eat as i will have to after surgery and it is a daily struggle without the sleeve. I am sure when I have surgery on Oct 19th the "I have to or hurt" will be a great inspiration. The sleeve is a tool and not a cure all. We still have to work at eating slow, chewing lots and drinking 30 mins after eating and filling up on protein first. This is a whole new mind set for me and even after 6 months, it is not a habit yet even though you would think it would be. We can do this and we are worth the effort and all the hard work. Food will not longer rule me, I will rule the food. I say this to me...'SHUT UP BRAIN, YOU ARE NOT HUNGRY AND YOU DO NOT NEED CARBS...EAT THE PROTEIN AND LOSE THE WEIGHT'. YEAH FOR US!!!!! :cheer2: :clap2:  :party4: :success1: -

FANTASTIC JOB Keeping up the great work!!!! -
My file went to my Insurance company on Monday and the doctor called Friday with my surgery date, October 19th. I am so excited and so grateful to finally have a day that will be my first day of the rest of my new healthier life. A mix of emotions is an understatement. Happy, scare, excited, WTH am I thinking, etc. This is the best present I can give ME and I am worth it.

Really struggling now
SmokyMtnGal2011 replied to Phoenix Rising's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tomorrow will they be able to do something about your water pill??? Surely they will see the new one isn't working and you need something stronger to get rid of the water. I would have been tempted to take 2 of the new ones to get rid of the water but that is a me thing not recommending that for you at all. I am sorry you have so many hoops to jump through. I hope they will not count this against you getting your surgery date. Hopefully we can be sleevies together. Lots of good thoughts and prayer angels to you !!!!!! -
OFFICALLY APPROVED

What made you do it?
SmokyMtnGal2011 replied to CT Fats's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My defining moments were the following: being told that I would have to take a shot for diabetes; hurting so much in my knees that I needed a cane to walk or have a knee replacement and not being able to love my husband physically (hang from the ceiling doing back flips kind of loving). Thanks for the topic, CT, hope you are drying out in CT. -
WOW great inspiration for sure. Please keep us posted on your progress and how you are doing. You will give and receive lots of wisdom here. Welcome to the loser's bench.

FINALLY after a month stall, 3 more lbs gone pre-op. I am finally getting the hang of more protein and vegs and no more NASTY Carbs!!!!! Still struggling with eating slow, chewing and sipping and no water during eating - practice, practice, practice. One more supervised Doctor visit and then can send in packet to insurance company and hopefully get approved and date for surgery. THE WAITING IS KILLER, but a great time to PRACTICE my new lifestyle. Thank you everyone for all your support this far and I can hardly wait till I am sleeved. Continue the Journey my neighbors and good luck to all.

God Bless You for saving a young person from a life of misery in a "fat shell"!!!!!!! I know you saved her future and I am praying she gets the help we all need to be healthier and live a longer life. PREACH THE TRUTH ALWAYS. -
allergic to all kinds of metal even surgical steel!!!
SmokyMtnGal2011 replied to Carole65's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Carole65 I have the same type allergry and was very concerned about the staples. My surguron reassured me that the Titanium is inert and will not cause a reaction in the body as it is not exposed to air. Rootman is correct in his statements. Don't back out, you will be fine, just make your surgeon aware of your allergry and concern. I definitely don't want staples outside and will not get any when it is my surgery time. Keep us posted and good luck, best wishes.
