Food Addiction SUCKS!!!
Papa Jack replied to BetterthanIwasb4's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did some of that too. Then I went on a 2 week liquid diet & then toward the end I had my wife fix me" Crab stuffed Devil eggs". A recipe I saw in a Weight Loss book. I talked for 10 days how good that last meal was going to taste. My wife fixed 2 dozen of those little bastards! They were the most tasteless thing I had eaten in years! After eating 6 of them they went in the trash. -
Is it really going to happen?
Papa Jack replied to peacequeen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes that is normal. Before then I guess I was just going through the motions. It hit me like a ton of bricks when the doctor gave me my surgery date. I was scared, excited, scared, worried, scared. I doubted myself. But a few hours later I was ready for it. I knew then I was getting my life back. So you are normal like all of us crazy people. PS Now when I had my surgery, I was being wheeled down the hallway & next thing I knew someone was waking me up. I thought for sure they forgot to operate on me. I looked at me belly to make sure. -
GOING INSANE, PLEASE HELP!!!!
Papa Jack replied to ChunkyAndFluffy75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel for you. But think of it as your journey toward your new life. Right now your like a kid waiting for Xmas. Buy some books on WLS. Think about when are you doing to start dieting, before surgery or after. Think about the stuff you will be able to do. What about these poor souls who can't get this surgery. This is a gift! We are being handed the tool to get our life back. I know how excited you are I am 3 weeks past surgery & I am still excited. Bless you for starting down this (favorite movie) "Yellow Brick Road." -

You need to cheat on her with a ugly woman....Naw this doesn't work I tried it. She doesn't want to be the big one when you go out in public. I have no clue how to fix this. Women make me shake.. -

My Brother in law works the line at Pepsi. They stand in spilled drink & it eats there shoes after a few months. That's all I'm saying. -
Hi Heather Look at it as this, you need to start a new life. ANY problems you have with the sleeve is nothing compared what you are going through. Let your Dr. handle the insurance & they will find out what will be covered. Your new life is waiting for you. Good luck!

I am back at work ( Sleeved July 26th) & people are asking me about WLS for themself or the wives. I talked to a wife last night & her BMI is 46. She like everyone here feels trapped in her body. It has affected her life, etc. She like myself had gone to doctors & only told to diet or "just eat right". NO one every said Weight Lose Surgery! Why is this? I am angry now because we need help & there are a lot of people that are not getting the help they need. I told her think of WLS as fixing your body. It's no different than fixing a broken bone. But it's not being discussed most of the time. When I got off the phone there were tears of hope. This fine young lady is going to get her life back.

Ok most doctors have a person who handles insurance. When I called my insurance they told me several things I would have to do to have the surgery. When I went to Dr. Clarks seminar the insurance lady handled the insurance for me once I decided to do this. I recieved a letter one week latter from the insurance company telling me I had been approved. I did not have to jump through the hoops. I had surgery 2 weeks later. I wrote the insurance company thanking them & letting them know how this has changed my life. As for losing weight, my Dr. did not need us too, BUT he has a store with protien shakes for us fat people. I started the shakes 2 weeks before ( 4 shakes a day & walking) I lost 20 pounds before surgery. I read in a WLS book "Nothing feels as good as Thin!" remember this as you start your new life.

Insurance and Strike.. What to do ?
Papa Jack replied to mouse trap's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
If she went back to work would she get to keep her insurance? If not you are stuck with starting over? I feel bad for you. -
Do you have doubts about the sleeve?
Papa Jack posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had the sleeve two weeks ago. I have come to the conclusion the sleeve is a "Gift". Most call it a "tool" When something gives you back your life that is a "Gift". I have never lost weight so easy & fast before. I am not hungry & my cravings are gone. So the sleeve is nothing to be afraid of. Go get your life back. -
WOW!! WOW!!! WOW!!

Any 400+ lb starting out that have reached goal or are close?
Papa Jack replied to SharonL's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
A friend of mine was 550 & has lost 235 pounds as of last month in 13 months. He paid $26,000 for his sleeve & would do it again. -
So tell me: What about YOU makes you feel SEXY?
Papa Jack replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This isn't sexy (maybe by someone?) but I was surprised by it & thought it was funny. I have lost 45 pounds & as I was standing at the toilet letting out some water, I looked down & saw little me. Now I did not have to bend over or use a mirror, no just old fashion "looking down". -
An NSV I may never top!
Papa Jack replied to pasquini's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That's great! I take my grandkids to Water Country & I am looking forward to next year not needing a T-shirt. Once I lose my weight I already told everyone to call before they come over because I will be naked... -
I betcha most people do NOT know someone who even had this surgery! It's like saying to someone who told you "I'm cancer free." then tell them "It will come back."
