This morning my wife told me during the night she looked over at me & did not see me. She had to reach over & feel the covers to see I was still there asleep. She said she's use to seeing a large lump.

One Year Sleeversary

Wow you are looking very nice! Thank you for sharing. -
A friend & co-worker of mine wants to get the sleeve. We were the same size & he see's me shrinking. With my insurance option I could just go & get the sleeve. His insurance option he needs a Dr to recommend him. As a young man he doe not have family Dr. So he went to a Dr down the street & ask about getting WLS. The Dr told him no because he does not agree with WLS because it was the easy way out. What a jerk!

Congrats! Now for the dizziness....Dr told me to take salt. I was going through the same thing last week. I put some salt on my hand every morning & lick it out. My dizzyness stopped right away. Dr said with the weight loss this is normal. Our bodies are losing to much salt. Great weight loss!!!

I use a baby spoon. I even use it at work. I love it! You can not use a table spoon or a regular spoon. Talk to your Dr. Mine told me my stomach was very small & maybe in a year it will stretch out, where a small child's plate size portions will be allowed. Just remember you are learning how to eat all over again.

What do I tell people?
Papa Jack replied to DreamLife36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When asked tell the truth. Be short. If they want to know more they will let you know. Then you have no guilt. That one person who life you change forever will make it worth it. -
Yea me too! I'm going to have to force myself to order small.

Went to a old seafood restaurant we like, first time in 2 months with the wife. This is my first food outside of the house. I ordered a shrimp & oyster platter with a side of greens. I was confused. I knew I was ordering to much BUT knew I had supper & lunch tomorrow. Well I ate 2 small oysters & one shrimp & WAS STUFFED! I knew I couldn't eat much but was still surprised but pleased. Ate 2 shrimp for supper, I love greens but they fill me up FAST. So I stayed with the shrimp. Anyone else been surprised at a restaurant?

Please do not remain silent about your "Sleeve"

Here's my two cents. I did not tell anyone but my boss. While I was out I asked him to let everyone know. I was out two weeks. When I came back & they saw the weight I was losing I had several people come to me in private about the surgery. I have talked to wives, family members & co-workers. People do not know about the sleeve. I have had wives burst out crying ( along with me ) when they see now there is HOPE. (remember this feeling) I have given out books about WLS. One women stopped me & asked how I had lost weight & said she was signing up for weight watchers again. While talking to her she logged on & scheduled a appointment for the Sleeve. She has been fighting her weight for the 25 years we have worked together. Most of the help has been for grown son's & daughters who needed help but did not know it was out there. How many people will not better there lives because people stay silent? Just my two cents worth. -
AMEN! It is one of the top decision of our life!! I look at the other guys at work & I'm the same size as them now. Your children must be very proud of you! What a heart moving story! Thank you for sharing.

You are so right. You can only tell your story. A friend is overweight & has Diabetes II. But she seems mad that I got this. Even though I see her every week & she can see this is working. We use to talk food & restaurants. Her husband (a friend also) told me "I should of never got it done.") Hasn't spoken much to me since. You are right, we can't live other peoples life's. -

You need to talk to your doctor. Those should not be answered here. -
My Wife Is Jealous And Resentful Of My Gastric Sleeve Success.

Get her to gain her weight back & get the surgery. Read the book Rethinking -Thin. It explains about eating & studies that have been done on people like us for the last 100 years.. There has never been a study that showed diets can keep the weight off. 97% of the people gain there weight back & more. The only answer right now IS surgery. It's not her fault. The book explains there is a set point in your brain how much you should weigh. It fights you the whole way if you try to lose weight. This is why it is so hard. Has nothing to do with will power. She is fighting her body & do not know it. The book is in paper back from amazon. -
AMEN TO YOU!

Better than being fat. I did the same thing. I saw it on Dr OZ & made a appointment. I was sleeved 2 weeks later. My insurance saw I had a BMI of 43.& it was covered. Have her sign onto this & other forums. She will do ok. Remember she has you to help & she has been fighting her weight also. So I think she will do ok. -
We go to a company doctor every year so I told him to get it from him. The company Dr was pleased I had it done. Very good suggestions from the team.
