About Me

  • Gender
    Female
At 41 years old I felt like someone 20 years older. I had painful osteoarthritis in my knee, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and depression. On top of that, I found out during the pre-op testing that I have sleep apnea which helps to explain why I was always tired and had no energy. I decided after much research that lap-band surgery would be my best option. I've never been a true emotional eater, but have always struggled with portion size. I joked for years that I wasn't programmed with a "full" button! I had my consultation with my wonderful doctor in late June and underwent surgery 1 week ago on August 31, 2011. It was by far the best decision I ever made. I have lost 12 pounds the first week which is great, but even better than that is how much better I feel. I have tons more energy even though I'm still on liquids. I have no cravings and am able to control my eating which is very empowering. I am just starting this wonderful journey and have so much to look forward to!
