    Anyone in Maryland

Hi Toyia, How are you doing now that you're sleeved? How was the process at Holy Cross?
  2. My NSV is in the clothing department. I purchased a pair of size reg./misses jeans YEARS ago (at least 10) and I can fit them now and I just tried on a pair of 16 women's trouser slacks I purchased a couple of weeks ago and they fit great now. Yaay!! How great is that. I started out in a snug 20W. This is awesome.

    NSVs This Week

    Congrats to you all!
  12. Absolutely! I will be 16 weeks out tomorrow and as of this morning i've lost 44lbs. And plenty of inches. At my 3month follow up 2 weeks ago, their scale stated i'd lost 35 (corrected) pounds and 25 inches overall. Now that is just awesome! I haven't moved from my current size quite yet, but my pants ARE SO LOOSE! So it's time for so alterations or a tighter belt. LOL! Personally I'll take the inches or pounds as long as my weight is going down. Also, many of us say we are slow losers but when I stop and think about losing 5, 9, or 10, etc. in a week, two weeks or a month really isn't slow especially if we stop and put it into perspective before VSG I could not have sustained this type of weight lose. As a matter-of-fact, I would usually lose about 30 pounds, stop and then gain it back plus more. So at this point in my journey I've broken my own personal record. For me, that is cause for a mini celebration, because I did have a short-lived fear of failing and/or not being able to break my freezing at the 30# lost mark.

    100 pounds GONE!!!

WOW ~ that is amazing! You had surgery a few days after me and you've lost 55 pounds in approximately 4 months. Great job!!
  15. I agree that fullness registers differently with each of us. But as the others stated the nasty feeling was the main indicator that you had taken one bit too many. For many, I get a pressure near my breastbone area and if I don't heed the warning, it gets very uncomfortable very quickly. When I over eat or eat too fast, I also get the slimies--totally gross. So the task of learning to chew, chew and eat slower continues. We just have to remind ourselves to be mindful eaters.

    My biggest success Post-VSG

Oh my goodness, she is so precious!! Congratulations to your family, what a blessing. Continued blessings for you all! Take care!
  17. I agree it is very frustrating. As many have told me, your body is still adjusting to the major change it has recently undergone. For me, when I don't actually see the scale moving down in pounds, I am still losing inches (a huge mystery to me, but I'll take it) as my clothing indicates. I will try on clothing in the closet one week and it may be a bit tight, by the next week it's almost too big. Just remember, when the scale isn't physically changing, there are still changes taking place inside your body. Keep the faith (and patience). I know it is very difficult, but it's the only way that I cope at almost 4 months out and down 42 pounds and 18 pounds from onderland.

    The scale moved!

Wonderful !It is truly a great feeling when that scale finally moves, isn't it?
  20. My wait was about month. In my case, I believe there was a snafu with my paperwork being submitted without my nutritionist actually telling me she dropped the ball. Good luck!

    strange cravings

About a week or two after surgery, I had an intense salt craving, it was so bad that I licked a parmesan garlic chip (did not eat the chip, just licked the flavor off); I still crack up when I think about it. My main cravings are diet pepsi and chocolate chip with walnut Cookies (oh, in my mind they would taste so good!). Anyway, I just think of my Water as my replace diet pepsi now...ah so good! LOL
