I have struggled with my weight all my life like most people considering this surgery.  I have tried diet and excersice but um...yeah do I need to go into details...we all know the outcome.  I just said to a friend last week that I was going to be like Oprah and not be defined by my weight any longer....
well that was until.....(mind you there have been other things that have lead up to looking into surgery....)

I left work that day in tears and infact cried for several hours after that too.....
As I am talking about trying to find a new doctor with my boss he starts discribing his doctor to me.  Conversation went something like this...."I see Dr. (so and so) and he's a great doctor but he's really fat.  I mean really FAT!  I mean you think shhsh how unhealthy can a doctor be.  He's so freakin short and dumpy.  And no offense to you but to give you an idea he's got your shape."
At that moment I wanted to die!  Apparently his culture doesn't see anything wrong with what he said.....
Thanks to a wonderful and supportive husband I started making phone calls to find out if the lap band would work for me....
I took my first step on June 13th and contact my insurance company and discussed it with them.  I also signed both myself and my husband up for the seminar that is required first for Monday the 20th. 
So let's see how far this will actually go........I have a lot of hope.......but as normal..a little cautious....after all can my LIFE LONG dream of being healthy and not overweight really come true?
